How about everyone here start by uninstalling TikTok from their phones?

Yeah the whole social distancing & lockdown doesn't seem to improve the numbers to be honest. The numbers are in fact going up to the point by now. My region has 100K+ cases at this point. Though more people have recovered, it's a shame that 6000+ have passed from this disease. I have relatives & family friends in Mumbai & even they feel that the cases are going to rise high.

I particularly hate the "so-called predictions" made by the gov't just to scare people off. Like, they say people should expect more disaster & stuff etc & this is scaring people off more than COVID-19 at this point.

The numbers are expected to go up. The whole idea behind 'flattening the curve' is so that they don't go up as quickly as to totally overwhelm the hospitals, but that the spread of the virus takes longer over time. That's why the social distance tactic has been advocated: by keeping their distances from everyone else, the spread of the virus would be made slower

The numbers you've given are worldwide numbers, not India's. That's b'cos the world was slow to react to the virus and shut down its borders: even the US, after banning travel from China, did not screen visitors from Italy until after the pandemic was declared, and after the travel ban on Europe. Whereas countries that had shut down earlier and not been sabotaged by #coronajihad cases have done just fine

Yeah, that's par for the course for the Chinese government, which is a totalitarian regime

This needs to happen. Also, this whole idea of a global supply chain needs to be re-thought out. Like right now, the US is cracking down on 3M for selling masks to Canada and Latin America ahead of the US, and I don't blame them: every government does have to look after its own citizens first. So the solution to that is every country making what they need, rather than being solely dependent on other countries for their basic supplies

It's impossible in a lot of cases where no comparable thing is made elsewhere. I've wanted to boycott China since 1989 - Tienanmen Square massacre - but that was impossible. Since every major multinational company around the world moved part or most of its manufacturing there ever since China was admitted into the WTO

It is getting easier as a lot of companies started moving out of China to countries like Vietnam, India, Philippines, etc, but there's a long way to go before it gets easy. And I'm not even talking about buying something that's Rs 10 from China vs Rs 100 from elsewhere

Its not possible for every country to produce all the things require by its citizen .global trade must be there but dependence one country should be curb down .the United nations and WHO should be made unbiased. Major Countries must keep an eye on the countries which could be threat to the world .

Hi dear, my post was primarily about how people weren't paying attention to the social distancing/lockdown protocol due to which the numbers are going up which is why I'm feeling bad for the rise of the number of cases & I also felt bad for the people who passed from this disease. Yes, the numbers are bound to rise but where I live & from the relatives whom I'm hearing the update of their surroundings + news information, people are still roaming due to which the risk increases.

It is unfortunate as the news was made suddenly, people got kicked out of their homes/jobs and have to return to their native hometown but there are people still roaming around and not following the social distancing protocol thereby increasing the risk of contracting the disease.

Research trials are showing various drugs as effective or promising but administering to a large population remains a question as the extent of the disease varies from mild to severe cases.
