Back to India - Pros and Cons

Hi everyone,
I've been back to India since a month now. I used to live in NZ and had a traumatic experience from my ex who is with another woman now ... and good riddance. In fact, I think that was the best thing that could happen to me, apart from the death of my mother in law who cheated me in the first place.

Anyways, being back was emotional. But since I'm back I am going through a period of shock to be honest. The crowed, the small, the sounds ... the light and the wind ... everything seems to create an effect on me. I've been aware for so long that its like as if I've come to a different India now.

The people look and behave differently, or is it me? Am I over reacting. Should I readjust myself or should I expect everyone to readjust to me.

Moreover, of course, the fact that I have a broken marriage now is a thing for many of my relatives and some of my friends. Its India of course ... that didn't change... or am I over reacting? What do you guys think? Anyone has an experience of returning to India after a long time abroad? (over 10 years abroad).

hey!
Good to hear from you and glad you are out of it!!!

As for people in India, hmm... just ignore them.. focus on what you want to do in life, now that you are free!:)

Say, you dont feel happy in India so prefer to go abroad. You dont feel happy there , so decide to come back to India. You dont feel happy again. What next...or where next?

Its not easy to leave a place for an Indian girl, and neither is it easy to make her own decision. I am not talking about Mumbai or Delhi, but the rest of India.
I am back in India as I had nothing to live for in New Zealand. My ex has his wife and children, and this time I had a talk with both of them and her attitude was obviously to make sure I leave with compensation - while he was silent as always with a face full of guilt and shame (something that I've started to hate with lots of passion).

India is cruel at time, my relatives are merciless. But I still have hope here, it still is a big country and there are known faces and known food. Still it feels more secure than a country where you get literally stolen and then get told to be grateful about it...
