Why don't you just cut the crap and first tell who's your idol and why do you idolize him/her? then maybe ask such questions..❤️

okay, what is your problem? does it matter if I idolize someone or not? do you not understand what I am asking here? has nothing to do with who I idolize, who you idolize, your sis, dad, mom, whoever? 🤪 stop trying to start something with me.

I have never been a ceazy fan of a celeb tbh.
Crazy fan of a character during my teens, pretty much. But, never did i fall for a celeb. 😆

Yes, as a teen I used to idolize celebs so much. But now I don't. I mean, I find some attractive but that's as far as it goes now.

People live vicariously through them and take pride in what they do and take their success as their own.
Celebs are rich, famous, get to do anything and everything that a common person can't dream of. Hence such aura around them.

Plus media, businesses also hype them up and promote celeb culture so it gets perpetuated further.

Celebs are often a channel for own repressed desires. And so are the characters they play onscreen.

These days babas, godmen, politicians, schools also use celebs to attract crowd or more support and that promotes celeb culture even further.

Media also hypes them with titles like superstar, icon, legend, or includes them in power lists. That props up their aura in eyes of common man even further.

Though I feel celebs must be treated like any other professionals and not any special. Anyday a doctor is more valuable than a two bit actor or singer.

I don't think stars are idolized as much as the internet is extremely argumentative and egoistic about being right. I have yet to see anyone in real life be as fixed as fans on the internet. People show up to watch movies for entertainment. This fixed fan culture is only visible on the internet.

We have fans garlanding posters of stars, mobbing them like crazy, making mandirs in their honour.

Southern fans even go step ahead and throw flowers at screen at entry of superstar. Fans of stars like MGR have committed suicide at being unable to get FDFS tickets.

Celeb obsession is real.

Those are always there, but they are fewer than majority of the public that shows up to watch movies. Most people who lead busy lives have no time for that type of idolization.
