Yemen is a sovereign nation and UN was supposed to be all about promoting world peace. Why then is the UN silent about the US genocide?
Just because they want to reinstate their ousted President Hadi. Thousands of women and children are being slaughtered by American-supplied "precision bombs" and US provided fighter jets.

The systematic starvation of people by denying them food, water and medical aid as a result of an air and sea blockade on the country adds to the FOUL genocide.

Is everyone supposed to be equal before the law? What does the UN say?

UN was formed after WWII, an apparent improvement on the earlier League of Nations ostensibly for world peace.

Some data says the US has bombed 22 countries in the last 20 years. Why? Are they really Interested in world peace?

Look at what the UN peacekeeping forces were doing in Sudan, in Afghanistan CIA was growing opium.

It seems the UN is US' w*ore. US has always vetoed any action against its atrocities. While leaders of smaller countries are meted out kangaroo court justice.

Ah! The good old US bashers of DM at it again!

The "war" is mainly between Saudi Arabia and Houthi rebels who are from northern Yemen. Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition of 9 Arab countries in a military offensive against these rebels.

US is offering logistical and intelligence support to the gulf cooperation council. It is true that it is supplying arms to the alliance but then nothing is "free" when it comes to US and arms industry is a global business. it generates billions in revenue.

I don't see a "genocide" happening and I don't see how US is responsible for whatever is happening in that region. Let the Houthi rebels surrender and the coalition will likely withdraw.

It is interesting that you omit facts and shift the blame on US and not put it squarely on Saudis/Houthis because apparently that doesn't suit your agenda.

And the US lovers are back with their counter agenda.
Saudis are biggest allies of US but of course you believe what you want to believe.

The topic btw was about the UN basically and US and Saudi allies...forget it.
Houthis..Hadi...killing no equal genocide...cough cough...remembrance holocaust...

Whatever you say man. 😊

So killing innocent people is not a genocide. 👏 I salute you.
You'd be a redneck if you weren't brown. 😆 This is it. I'm sure you'll reply and gloat. Gloat all you like about not countering with facts. Yada yada...

Well, you wouldn't have heard from me if only you had clearly stipulated that this thread is reserved only for those who can badmouth US at will.

The ones directly engaged in this fight are the Saudi-led coalition forces and Houthis. US and Iran are the fringe players. At its core, this is a Shia-Sunni conflict.

Innocent deaths is tragic. Beyond that, the thread should concern itself with what really is happening in that region and not point fingers willy-nilly.

There are so many ways of making money in the world. Each one has the freedom to choose. Choosing to earn billions in revenue through a business that kills and maims a billion living beings is a most unethical way if not downright evil IMO. Does it make it right as long as people killed reside outside the geographical boundaries of their own nation?

That's a simplistic way of looking at things. If US and Russia are the biggest arms exporters, Saudi and India are the biggest arms importers in the world. Why export is as valid a question as why import.

As long as boundaries exist, arms will exist. They existed even in our mythology. Brahmastra, Pashupatastra, Sudarshan Chakra...they too were capable of killing and maiming all living things.

A strife ridden country will import arms if it cannot manufacture them in sufficient quantities by itself and the strife will thus get prolonged. For them it is a necessity unlike those who manufacture them with the intent of doing business. When a country has surplus arms it would look for newer markets to expand its business and thus we get an arms race in the world. A peaceful world goes against the interest of such a business. No countries at war spells a lull in their profiteering. For countries exporting arms it makes economic sense to keep other countries at war.

The weapons mentioned in the Indian mythology were not accessible to all and sundry. The teachers taught their use only to worthy students who they felt would not be misusing it. It was more for defending the righteous. It was never imparted indiscriminately across boundaries for earning revenue.
