Sometimes we're just sharing our opinion and have absolutely no intension of hurting anyone and what exactly happens? - People get all offended.
Let's take the example of forums and threads. The other day I started a topic discussing an actor's acting skills and not saying a single negative word about his physical appearance or behaviour. On the contrary, I praised his sense of humour and even wrote that I find his interviews pretty amusing and enjoy them really much. And now guess what I got to see in people's replies. They labeled me as "actor'sname-hater"and found my comment "bashing".
We don't always have to agree with each other but does that mean that we're not even allowed to voice our opinion when we're actually quite neutral about the actor? Do we always have to praise the actors only so others don't get hurt? Is not even constructive criticism allowed at all? I'm not talking about attacking the actors, I'm only talking about discussing their art that we get to see.
Now, we can say, what's constructive criticism for the one, may be bashing for the other... but don't we have limits to everything? Being madly in love with a person/star and being defensive about every little comment is pretty unnecessary and very exaggerated.
What do you guys think?
