^ I really can't judge the user because I don't know whether he/she is trolling or is serious but in my real life, I am surrounded by people having the same mentality, and shockingly most of them are youngsters and educated. If educated people around me can think like this, how can I blame the rickshawallah scolding his wife and calling her maa*rch*d for forgetting something as trivial as filling the water tank at his house.

When politicans of our country have sick mindset of 'Boys will be boys', what can you expect from lawyers and rapists and their families!

Its heartbreaking to see the video but its truth and every Indian needs to be aware of this documentary!

The message being echoed is strong - Problem isn't with law, BUT WITH UPBRINGING, WITH THE MINDSET that persists all-over our country!

What would happen in India if a teenage girl lied to her parents to go to a coed party? What if she engaged in illegal underage drinking? What if she flirted with and hit on the boys? What if she drank so much that she passed out? What if those boys thought this would be a fun opportunity to touch her privates and finger her? What if they were all underage? Is it rape or was she asking for it? Are the boys rapists or teens just having fun? Should they be tried and sentenced as adults?

Rape culture exists in the USA too. Campus rape and sexual assault is something being frantically fought. Obama has made several statements voicing concern about sexual violence and date rapes.

The difference between USA and India though is that US society is grappling with the questions surrounding incidents like Steubenville. India is still grappling with the Nirbhaya case. The US justice system convicted the Steubenville boys of rape as adults. A Nirbhaya rapist was tried as a minor.
