About democratic voting, the thing is that the moderators all discuss in their section about who to promote and who not to...People also would vote for most popular people maybe

And if everybody is a mod for a little while, then won't it be a little crazy? 😕 And if they get used to being a mod then they will be upset to have that taken away

and i don't think everyone would go to a NHB section... while the show was on, everyone ran away from the FG section, because views other than those singing the praises of a contestant got bashed

Not Alwayz, but ppl look at it in diff ways...I might be wrong here, but...There are times where the topics are closed without giving any reason which hurts the member, whoz posted it. I really feel that mods and members should share a good rapport as these mods were once members too😛

2) What should we do if we are having problem with a mod?

I think the best way to sort it out is by PMing the mod...

3) Should there be a complain box directly reaching to vijay bhai or vidya ji.(any other suggestion )

I guess we should have such a system coz vidya and vijay might not find few things wrong like the mods do...Ppl have different perspectives and it does help sometimes.

4) When usually mods go wrong (is it partiality)

I feel mods are not always correct, same as your boss who is not always correct. I have seen few members they have left this forum coz of this issue. Lekin, its there personal decision. I too agree this is not a se serious issue like politics to have a complain box lekin some things should need to be cleared out if any confusion. Regading mods going wrong.. after all human so might go wrong.

Yup nobody is perfect and we all do mistakes...I am not personally talking abt a mod as I dont have anything against them....😳

I personally feel there should be a proper warning level system where...

1. In certain uncontrollable circumstances a member is warned...

2. The mod should try and request the member thru a PM (instead of plain warning for a petty thing) that S/he shouldn't do things which the mods feel is not right. As most members don't realize tat they r doing something wrong.

3. There are times where the posts aren't as bad as it needs to be warned, so the mods should try and understand that we are not going overboard.

4. I also feel tat mods sometimes should try n overlook certain members who have created trouble in the past, they r not the culprit each time for new troubles.

I know every one enjoys there mods company and seek help from them no one will have any sort of problem lekin as I vist many threads I see people get depress if there topic is closed without being given any valid reason.

well, mods should try and understand that the members lowe them too, we dont wanna put them in a rough situation each time 😛...

How much responsibility does a mod should have??

I think my answer is in ur 4th question...

P.S: I don't have any thing against any mods....
Me2, I dont have anything against anybody, I have been a happy member since 2005 😛 But, itz just tat, I feel sad for my fellow members 😳

I agree, with ur viewpoints.

I agree that before someone is issued a warning level they should be notified. I m sure some mods do and try to help out.

Also, I think that when mods go into posts and warn rahter than PM the person its embarassing. I think since we are asked to PM them(i do that when im upset, sionce i hate open forumn battles).I think they should as well(some mods are great at that, others just say it in open and I some members get hurt by that)

Other views:

I think this six month rotation idea will not work, yet create more problems, and agree those most popular will get votes and does not mean that they are the right ones.

Well,I think it must be 50% moderator's votes, and 50% members' votes...because,moderators are there for the members mainly, and members should have a say in the appointment of the moderators😊..because people connect to people whom they know well, and thus problems can be sorted out easily

one thing is,members feel comfortable when the moderator in their section is a friend of theirs..well see, suppose hypothetically I say something obnoxious...I wouldnt realize it at the spur of the moment...and,If a mod strictly explains it to me,I might get all the more piqued..But,if a neutral member, who is very judicious, and happens to be a friend of mine, and who happens to be a mod elucidates as to where I went wrong ,perhaps I'd realize my grave mistake in less time😊...Like,getting a PM from someone who a member does not even know from adams can get a bit awkward, and we might get indignant...Whereas,if its a friend, who we have known for long,we would perhaps understand easier, and solving problems would also be much less cumbersome....

The idea of appointing temporary moderators seems a tad ludicrous because as you said, when members are asked to step down, they would feel sad and all that....New mods need to be appointed, that's imperative😊

and,one more thing..before Mods say that members must mellow down, they need to tell us as to which was the thread where we went overboard😊

Ofcourse Moderators can be wrong. After all, what are moderators? Fellow members which have given an apropriate title due to what they contribute to the forum. It certainly doesn't mean they are wiser than the rest but there are sometimes where you need to take decisions and sometimes very tough ones and you must be able to take the pressure. The most important part of being a moderator, I personally feel is to understand both sides of the coin and then make a decision. You must keep a balance and not let your emotions come in your way. I feel thats why moderators are called moderators but as I said it doesn't make them any more or less wiser than the rest. In fact, I see so many intelligent posts my senior members and I wonder...why can't I write like this?

At the end of the day its Members vs. Members because Moderators are no different 😉

Long time since the Sa re days, still luv ur user name 😊

ok now to seome issues:

I know that there is a huge development team( since know many mods, viewbies, etc..). I was just implying that these issues have been around 4 so long. Yet suddenly people are speaking up(still not enough) I see.

Though I have no persaonal issue with any mod( actually like most of them, esp the ones I know😊. Yet am aware of many members that do. However, there are issues that I have concerns over.

4 instance what is the definiton of spamming? since I see it refer to many different contexts in different sections so its 😕

I know that mods are appointed in a certain manner since there was a sticky on this , yet that in itself is 😕

Since some members are here 4 less than 2 months and suddenly become viewbies than mods. I think more time and training is needed from transistion of Viewbie to Mod!(I know some are viewbies becasue they help out etc..yet that does not make them great law enforcers or apt to deal with viotile situations)

I mean there should in myopiinion be some age range. We have mods who are 14-? u think everyone maturtiy level is the same. Ithink if they are in that range maybe a viewbie status is ok since its helping our mods. Yet to promote them to moderator status?

I m just bringing issues that I have heard from others and that have crossed my mind..

As stated to me the mods are doing a great job, with so many sections😊

It is an experiment worth doing for two months. Personally I can say everything I wish to say here so I would not want to go there but let people take out their 'bhaDaas' if regular forums are not good enough for them.

😆 now that be a treat section😆
