This is my biggest question ever. Why are Bollywood celebrities more popular and well-known than serial actors.

I mean, Bollywood celebs only act in a few 3 hr movies a few times a yr. And serial actors act 4-5 days every week for a couple of yrs. And ppl of all ages and generations tend to watch soaps. So why aren't the serial actors more renowned for their outstanding work than the Bollywood actors? I personally think ppl put more effort and passion into daily soaps rather than movies.

If serial actors were like the Bollywood celebs, ppl like Smrithi Irani, Mona Singh and Shweta Tiwari would be as famous as Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta and Aishwarya Rai. But we don't tend to recognise these people and treat them like kings and queens.

Why is that? 😕
