I think those were the bad old DD "when we considered Krishi Darshan entertainment" days when India did not have choice with in India it self so they looked else where for entertainment.

Yaar, log serials kyun dekthe hain? It doesn't matter if the soap is Pakistani or Indian, both are full of drama. I see it this way, when I have no drama in my life then I watch soaps so that I can feel I have a sense of fufillment. When I have drama in my life, I don't watch dramas cuz well...I already have drama. 🤡 🤡

Oh yeah, Sabah, I hope you got your answer to your question somewhere in these pages on why Indian soaps are more popular than Pakistani soaps. 😛 When you find it, please let me know too, cuz well this is kinda too much too read on a Friday afternoon. My brain shut off last night.

Oh yeah and uhh...it is a good thing that Pakistani dramas are less popular than Indian dramas cuz there was once a study done on people who watched american soaps. The conclusion was that those who watched a lot of soaps in America were prone to being depressed or were they more depressed. I don't remember. The moral of the story, we shouldn't watch so many soaps cuz it can cause depression. But then again...so many things cause so many things. Does this relate...no, huh. 😕 I thought I should say something productive though.

And I know the definition of Drama, but the problem is that, the Indian serial is all imagination. It should have social issues and a solution to them too.

NO!!! I am not saying that!!! India ha talent, in past a few pages, I read so many times that Pakistani dramas lack something. I don't agree, and only telling what I think, Indian artists do have talent. But for some reason, their talent is not used in the right way. This is my opinion, and you don't have to agree to that. The artists might be talented and versatile, but they are used in almost the same role, in every show!!! What I have seen so far, only Rajeev has come out with different avatars. Rest is almost the same. Rahil azam is given the role of psycho in every soap he has done. Why not try something else???

There is no ruler to measure the talent of a person. So I can't say that who is more talented then the other. But what I have seen. Pakistani artists come in every role from king to beggar and do a great job in it.

It is a dangerous ground, but it is true!!! That all what happened had no conclusion, the issue is still there. All the meetings and buses and trains didn't solve anything nor did Indo-Pak co-ventures solved or enhanced any relationship. The governments are playing with their ppl's emotions. When they need votes they start with this friendship thing, and when they get the seat, it's all over. That's why I called it a drama. Anyways, it's a different topic so will leave it here.

Yes I am angry and really upset, because many ppl who are debating and saying that Pakistani dramas are not good, they haven't seen any. And without knowing they are letting them down.

I am a viewer of both Indian and Pakistani shows. In all these years, I have only seen same storylines. I don't know which channel you guys watch. But on Zee, Sony and Sahara, there are no good dramas. Bunyad was so so. They all are same. One person after another, two ppl got married, next day, their ex-gf/wife/dead wife/dead hubby/bf/obsessed lover comes bak. And a new fight is started. This is something which doesn't happen in real life!!! Kahin per bhi nahian hota. Na India main na Pakistan main. Aur na hi kahin aur!!!

And ya Kareena Kareena wasn't Ekta Show!!! It starts with a K but its not Balaji!!! And nor is YMLH.

I don't know, but there is no real end to this debate, coz all of us are sensitive about our own country and whatever is shown or done there. So there is no right or wrong. Maybe that's why we are all so apart, even though we are the most closet nations in the world!!! We have 95% same culture, tradition, language, dress and everything.

A simple answer to this topic, Why is it that,Pakistani soaps and movies not popular in India, is because they are not shown there. And if u have a question why? Then ask the dish or the gov. they might have a better answer to that, then any of us!!!

None of the channels are banned in India and it never will be. As I have mentioned earlier we get all the channels but it all depends on demand. If more Indians watch Pakistanis dramas then more cable wallahs will show them.

So in my opinion the conclusion to this debate as mentioned earlier by another member is that since we have so many good regional channels most of the Indians watch that and then the Hindi ones and some English shows too. So basically Indians lack time and interest to watch Pakistani dramas.

Forgot to mention that we even get a channel from Saudi Arabia. This time in India I watched few episodes of some drama on this channel and only then I learnt that they are not as narrow-minded as I thought them to be. Some of the women in their shows are powerful. I know I didn't understand a word but it was interesting to see a hen pecked husband working in a field and the lady of the house resting on the cot.

imaginary serials started just abt 3-4 yrs back.Even Kiyunki was fantastic show when it started .but after 1 yr it became crap.

india is a big country. it has so many different states and cultures. we have lots of stories. we have sooo many serials which shows social issues except Ekta's but thats different thing that u havent seen that or dont find them intersting .

one more thing BB and others ur base of debating is just the serials of last 3-4 yrs whether these r Ekta's or not. again and again u r giving examples of these serials.

I dont agree with u. we have lots of different things. I dont want to disscuss these here but its not 95%. sorry I cant measure it in percentage but 95% looks we r soo similar or have same things.but I dont think so we r as similar. yes we r similar in some things like family values etc etc. Languages we have only Punjabi and Urdu similar.both languages r being spoken in some parts of India not in all India.

may be that can be point that thats why Indians dont want to watch paki serials bcz they cant relate themselfs with its culture which I feel is little different frm ours bcz India dont have one culture . every state has its own culture , language and triditions..

Topic was abt something else but some member started to compare Indian shows and Actors with theirs.

avg. every Indian watch serials from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm ( may be 11.00 pm) they also watch news , Movies and do their other work too.Indian television have lots of different programms . like if some one dont like to watch ekta's shows they watch GILC, nach baliye, SRGMP, there r lots of shows on news channels like Barkha dutt's, Veer Sanghvi's etc. and there r lots of regional chennals show really good serials which people like to watch as well as some people also like to watch Americans shows. Indian views have sooo many programms to watch so thats why they dont need to watch any Paki shows whether cablewallah show a paki channel or not or serial is good or not.. I dont think so A Normal Indian viewer will watch a Paki show instead of these all programmes .

yea indian things are popular allover the world.
bollywood is almost as international as hollywood.

every country between egypt and indonesia watches and listens to indian things. even if they are banned in the country they still watch it cause it is better. i dont understand why they are banned though 😕

my freind went to some random poor place in egypt. and some egyptian guy said " You Hindi" my freind said yea. then the egyptian said "Know Amitabh Bachan". even poor people in the randomnest places like egypt know amitabh bhachan.

and on zee cine awards this year it was in mauritius. and the mauritian people (these are not indians that live there) said that Amitabh Bachan and SRK are good looking

even white and black people now watch indian movies and serials. but only if they have subtitles 😆

and they love indian songs, and dance to them all the time. i even know americans who learn bharatnatyam.

and if people say that indian serials suck, then why do they come to IF? cause this is for indian tv shows.

the truth is that even thought they say they dont like ekta's stuff they still do watch it. and it doesnt make sense why they are being hypocrite

I've never seen Buniyaad myself😳 ... but my mom says its a really good drama.

I remember shows like Hasratein .. which is quite old actually. I thought that was a good show as well. So we cant say Indian shows are all based on "Imagination" ... A lot of them were pretty good.

Waise I agree with Ronnie ... Indian movies & shows are quite popular .. and not just among Indians ... they're popular among a large group of people.

My aunt, who is White ... watched shows like Piya Ka Ghar ... she is totally "firangi" in her lifestyle & choices .. but she watches Indian shows on Zee (cuz they're the only ones with English Subtitles) with soo much interest.

So they definately have that X-Factor that attracts, not just Indians but people from all over the world .. from different cultures.
