Why are you going off topic. 😕 We are discussing Harry Potter and Twilight, not Nazis.
Nazis suck. 🤢
Harry Potter and Twilight are better than Nazi.

HP politics holds very close tie with Nazism, eg. Voldemort was sort of Hitler for which Rowling drew parallels with Nazism. I was just using it as a reference, not to throw you off the topic. 😉

this has to be my favourite debate of all time. 😆
Will put my input later. 😆
edited: This might be long. :|
Harry Potter will always be better than twilight. I can't stand twilight or SM. They both make me want to tear my hair out. They call it the romance of the twenty-first century which I find hard to swallow because it's all about cheesy lines, how bella just needs edward to keep her alive and how family, friends and education should take a back seat BECAUSE YOUR BOY FRIEND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT YOU CAN EVER HAVE. AND HE SPARKLES.
There really isn't a good plot. In snape's words: Mediocre to the very last degree. The writing is just bad. It's sexist. Bella has got to be the weakest, most whiny, depressed, clumsy protagonist i've ever read about. She isn't realistic. She's creepy. Just like edward. She doesn't mind edward sneaking into her bedroom when she barely knows him, she doesn't mind him kidnapping her - well, she does but she doesn't do anything to stop him. She's controlled by her boyfriend. And sometimes, i'm not sure if it's even love they talk about. It's just a very unhealthy obsession/infatuation/physical attraction. Edward is perfect and Bella has the lowest self-esteem. I don't like characters who don't understand their worth. And quite frankly, I don't like girls who jump off a cliff because their boyfriends leave them.
And i've heard that bella is a role-model to a lot of girls out there. *Sigh*. I pray for you all, i really do.
Hermione Granger on the other hand is the perfect role-model anyone could ask for. Remember when ron left her in DH? Remember how she transformed from this know-it-all into a confident, young woman for whom her boyfriend wasn't more important than defeating the darkest wizard of all time? She went back to complete her education after the final battle, she worked against oppression that the house-elves and other magical creatures went through. Now, isn't that what you call a proper role-model?
The characters are flawed in HP and you can relate to them. Now, i have yet to meet someone who can sparkle in the sun, have a perfect angelic face, velvety voice, and a stalking, abusive behaviour.

Dint even bother to read the debate, but wished to leave my two cents! 🤔

Well, anyway, the point is that most of us know that there are more pressing matters in the world than 'having a boyfriend' and those who've read Harry Potter, they'd just know that there is hardly anything better on paper they'd ever come across. It is just that, we need to have at least one point of origin to have a go at COMPARISON. And there is nothing common in the two series, I am sorry but Robert Pattinson is not enough a reason to abuse two different genres of books and 'Black' is not enough to demarcate the respective Sirius and Jacob standards the fans have set. You can't compare the way they are written, because one is Fantasy and the other is Supernatural. There we go, explaining how Harry Potter is much better than Twilight. In my opinion, there's no point in comparison because those who look for substance can simply have a go with HP and be overwhelmed for a lifetime and those who are intrinsic ruthless romantics can always have a go with Twilight. The more we compare, the more we give people a chance to thrash our favorites. 😳

Yes, it does take a lot of effort to comprehend what the person was trying to say. 😆 Uff, people should just learn to use grammar.

To be honest, i'm not a die-hard fan of either but since i once upon a time was a die-hard Twilight fan, i feel rather obligated to comment here.

Twilight may not have the best characters, or the best plot but i actually want someone to define best for me. =/ Wizards and magic is best for all you, isn't it?

Forget Bella, Jacob and Edward. What about the other characters? It seems like all Twilight haters use the main characters to bash the series but they're unknown to the fact that, there are other characters in the story other than 3 people. *gasps* Yes, i know. Shocking isn't it? There are characters other than the "main characters". *rolls eyes*
Seriously people. Grow up. For one, these 2 series are completely different. I don't understand how people think comparing them is relevant in any way. =/ Like, what the heck? Where are you getting this from?
One is about wizards and magic, the other about vampires and werewolves.

And, as for the plot line, a vampire falling in love with a human is in fact, creative. And if you haven't noticed, Bella is not perfect. She's not a bad-ass girl that can do magic. =/ She's a girl who trips, who finds it hard to make friends, who makes mistakes and falls for people. She's a normal teenager that many teens to an extent, can relate to.

I understand that many Harry Potters fan do not understand why Twilight fans love Twilight so much and come to think of that, at times even i wonder why i fell for the series but why would you want to compare 2 books that aren't even the same?

Exactly😆
They both belong in fantasy land...
I have read here in this thread HP fans saying that...Edward sparkles in the sun😆...if Edward sparkles then OMG Harry flies on a broom😆...
Its like a pot calling the kettle black...😆
Both of these series cater to a specific set of readers...escapists to be specific...they are both fantasy...its not as if twilight is about vampires and HP is about the harsh reality of kids dying in Africa...
I have read twilight...loved it..
Read the first HP book...loved it too...planning to read more...
The reason why I loved these fantasy novels...is because I live in a real worl...face problems everyday...reading these kinds of books is escaping from the real world into a world filled with wizards and vampires...relives me from some stress even if its for a little while..
