but questioning everything makes you do nothing. You become nothing more than a mere philosopher.

EDIT: btw, whos that ugly twit in your sig? 😕

Yeah, I have a twisted way of looking at things. 😆 You misunderstood - I wasn't differentiating between humans and animals. They could both have been just as easily created from already present unicellular organisms. The Quran, for example, mentions that humans were created in stages. All of life was created from water - could that water not contain unicellular organisms? The Quran also mentions that the first living thing was algae in the plant kingdom and the animal kingdom followed afterward. If everything was created in stages, it is possible that creationism supports the idea of evolution and the progression from unicellular organisms all the way to multicellular organisms. I don't see what's wrong with that idea. I believe in both theories.

And FYI: asking questions forces you to think. and thinking leads to thoughts that eventually lead to ideas.

So you believe in evolution/common descent, except that this whole process was initiated by God?

Yes, sir. I don't have all the details worked out, but that's the gist of it.

Coming from a Biology major, that's pretty gutsy of you to say that. I am impressed. Be prepared to get ostracized by your peers if you express this in public.

As someone who read everything there probably is to read about on this subject, I think there is some truth to micro evolution but macro evolution is, how do I put it, bull twaddle.

I never said it was. It's a combination of evolution and creationism - it's my take on the world, if you will. 😆 I told you - it's twisted, but that's how I see things! Being a biology major and a Muslim girl who tries to understand her faith, I figured I'd make things easier for myself by developing a new perspective that won't compel me to choose between the two. 😆

Well, hello there! Been there, done that. Most people who believe in creationism haven't bothered to understand evolution. That is the biggest problem. In my opinion, the way evolution is taught in schools, it is a pretty heavy argument and the evidence is difficult to ignore. However, if you talk to people who are actually giving both theories an equal chance, you'll see that I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

I've only taken one course on evolution, so I am certainly not one who has a lot of knowledge on the theory. More than half the semester was spent on the Hardy-Weinberg equation and I still fail to understand its significance.
