I guess only in DM people actually put a thought behind which post they are liking and whether it is actually brilliant. Most other sections people just randomly go on liking posts.

Sometimes it is to indicate it has been read.

Alright! Stop hoping for an encore after Elvis has left the building. 😆

Just so people don't start drawing up straw man arguments deliberately misrepresenting my position I will throw in my additional two cents on this.

1.The intention behind this topic is not to question the freedom that people have at their disposal. That's baloney.

2.The question posed by the debate is pretty straightforward. Is cancellation of an IF ID good or bad? At some point you have to take a stance and answer Yes or No to the question instead of dillydallying forever. For the record, I unequivocally said that it's bad.

3.The assumption is that we are talking about those rock stars whose posts will be missed by many. Not someone like, say, Gulshan.Gobar (sorry Gulshan!)

4.I never said it's the moderator's job to implement a solution. I said the moderators play a part when the dev team (I don't know the hierarchy of the company. I am assuming there's Vijay and then there are a couple of developers who maintain the website and then there are volunteers who, either out of their benevolence or because they are on a power trip, regulate the forums) identifies the root causes behind these cancellations and decides on sandbagging the flood of people bent on making a scene and 'evacuating'.

5.And yes, at some point Vijay has to (and will) start spending money procured from external investors instead of bootstrapping his venture and depending on free services. There's a saying and, Vijay, this is for you. You get what you pay for! BTW, if you see this message, call me. I am not averse to plunking down a little for a percentage ownership in Cyberax.

NOW, I am done. Peace!

Kya baat hai K Sahab ?😆 Very well said.
To set record straight I have captured all your IDs in my memory lane thread.
Sadly if I should get banned the story too will disappear. But then nothing lasts forever except that which does not change.😆

Yes, it does. Here, let me press the like button on your comment. When you signal me to press 'like' again, see the magic unwind😃

Peace Brother
😊
Quite true. When I first opened the topic I actually wanted to asked people not to go forever.
If need be try to take a long long hiatus and come back when time permitted; one year, two years it is fine and alright.
But arguments developed and we started looking at the reasons why people do not want to be around anymore. But I guess some were due to personal reasons which we just have to respect and others because they were not happy about certain things.
I believe without some complaints and expression of dissatisfaction we will never evolve.
Good Luck gotta run. taking half day off.😆
Have a good weekend folks and God Bless
