im not malayali...but im a fan of this guy...

and he is also the only "Honorary" Lieutenant colonel in the Indian ..

I dont of people worshipping him but yes everyone right from children to elderly def respect him purely coz in his 35 yr career, he has been the perfect role model with absolutely no controversy, no politics, no fakeness. He is a very simple man inspite of his successes. He has a true rags to riches story. from a bus conductor in bangalore to a villain to hero to superstar. Everyone has seen his rise and hence appreciate him. He has done so many charities, he travels to the himalayas once a year by foot and a small bag, if his movie flops which is a rarity, he gives everyone their money back.

he is what he is....he does not exhibit fakeness of any kind or type in real life. Thats why he is a role model and thats why some people give him the demi god status .

I can go on and on but for now i think that would be enough. People like me and million others including my grandparents and parents who have seen him appreciate him coz heis a true role model for any youngster who wants to excel in his field with sincerity and honesty and yet remain grounded with so much simplicity is truly remarkable.

Getting back on topic tho u think his fans dont know that what he does on screen is absurd(its alled escapist cinema)? or how he actually looks? he doesnt hide behind wigs/hair transplants , ton of make up and designer clothes evertime he steps of his house. They know exactly who he is but still adore him - like it or not that is something to think about.

I think I'm not the right person to ask that question because I feel beauty and stardom do not correlate for me. For example, I like Deepika, just because of her looks, but as an actor, she needs to get some job done. Acting and looks are completely 2 different variables for me.

In tamilnadu the tamil film stars has always been worshipped. Even khusboo has a temple dedicated to her. Another trend is they eventually get involved in active politics as well.

My boss gave me a bhasan about the code of Rapchick Rajni the other day when I said rather ignorantly why I would want to watch robot. Now I'm reading this topic. I'm a sucker for punishment. And I still don't get the Rajni histeria. Its greater than the Bacchan Sr (don't like him either) hysteria....how come?

I have not seen ONE movie of his and hell, I was seeing people doing abhishek of his photo. Abhishek is a puja done on God's idol with milk and all.

And I was like W*F??? He is not good looking(sorry 2 the fans) and he is DAMNN over-rated. Good human being and all is fine but whats so special in that? Every1 shud be a nice human being :S Whats it go to do with acting and all? :S :S

His movies gain zero interest of mine and seem SOO bore. I will never get the Rajnikant mania too :S But its not THAT worth it. That's for sure :S
