Hey all. 😊

Happy F-Day to everybody in here! Have a blast! 😃

So, I have had this question in mind since ages and I have debating over the same with lot many people and here's my chance to talk over the same with ya. 😆

I am a bookworm myself, so I don't oppose people who study a lot. 😆 What I oppose is the fact that people value grades and not knowledge and this time, the parents are not the only ones to be blamed. Even the teachers and students have the same point of view. I have witnessed this and I am sure you guys must also have. Without a doubt, grades matter but without required knowledge . . they are useless!

3 Idiots is one revolutionary movie, isn't it? It has taught people a lesson and entertained too. But IDIOTS will always be idiots . . such movies can also not change people's mindset. 😆

What is more important, good grades or knowledge? Is it necessarily beneficial to fetch grades but be dumb, otherwise?

How many of you feel pissed off when you are asked to "mug up" an answer or hear people discussing what all has to be crammed for the exam? 😆

Regards,
Kanky

Being able to work well is the best. Just knowledge or high grades are insufficient in the long run. However, if you want the job in the first place, you'll need good grades and knowledge. Grades are best achieved if you actually understood the study material. The application of knowledge is the best way. But to answer your question in A/B format, I'd say knowledge.

Depends
If the knowledge has no value in the field of employment, then just go for the grades.
If the knowledge has some relation to the employment you will pursue, then go for the knowledge

In my opinion the exam/tests should be designed in a way so that they test the knowledge of the student instead of the mugging power....so that your grades will reflect the knowledge that you have.

you will first need the grades to qualify and then get the chance to demonstrarte your knowledge. You need both.

like I said, job ke liye you need credentials like a degree or good school performance from 10th onwards. Then work skills, and obviously life skills come into play.

I agree with you, knowledge is prior because cramming always doesn't fetch grades. Besides, in order to fetch a job, along with merit, you need wit too.

Exactly my point.

I believe, MCQ is the best form of tests, it judges the student perfectly. Cramming and writing long answers won't help in the long run and that is what people need to realize.

How would you get good grades when you lack knowledge?

In case of a very reputed institution, the graduates need not even display wit! It's similar to people receiving accolades on account of their reputation, etc. But in the long run, the knowledge, ability and life skills is the sole deciding factor. Rakhesh Jhunjhunwala, who is a CA, and not an MBA in finance , is the greatest investor of India, who started off with 5000 bucks and now has 5000 crores. Natural talent is another important factor.

Cramming? phooey. I stopped cramming since the 4th grade when answers exceeded 5 sentences. Cramming is a sin, according to me.
