Mister K. 😃 Heard quite a bit about you randomly round here in DM. Glad to see you're in now. Quite a unique way of introducing oneself I must say. Interesting though, and above it, of course intriguing. Welcome is all I'll start with for the time being! 😛
The part I kept in this quote was the bit I liked the best. Especially the part in red, certainly my favorite of the long post.
I think as Believe stated it above, the human mind is beyond all these questions, or within too deep inside. What's the difference anyway? How could we know what's beyond, and what's deep inside? 😉 We couldn't, can't for the time being, nor do I believe will Science be able to construct a device powerful enough to do so. There are a lot of reasons in my opinion. First, Science detects particles, matter, anything concrete or existent. Whereas the human mind works on thoughts, that exist one millisecond, and disappear to be replaced the very next second. The fluctuation in thoughts, the continuous sequence of 'va-et-vien' as the French say, is impossible to store, analyze and explain on paper. Second, lets assume you can answer for one mind, what about the next? What about the billion people around the world? Trillion animal or plant species? There's a reason why we call someone God, and not even extraordinarily human! 😆
Also, I liked Karan Bhai's point as well. Infinite is stronger than most people take it as a word. How can something that has a start be infinite? Because it has a start, so it has to have an end. Infinite has no median, so it has no start and no end. Thumbs up here!
Consciousness, another heavy word. There are two parts to it, the figurative, and the literal. I am guessing you're speaking of the figurative bit, not as in physical consciousness, but being conscious in the mind. I think for most part of a lifetime, 95%, if not more, of the people on this Earth, forget others, and not even conscious of themselves, physically and emotionally. Perhaps because they never thought of it. They don't ask themselves questions like "What am I doing here? Who am I?" and so on. However, according to Descartes, all thought is conscious. Conscious experience, according to Descartes, included such ideas as imaginings and perceptions laid out in space and time that are viewed from a point, and appearing as a result of some quality (qualia) such as color, smell, and so on. I like the later part by Descartes: "in space and time that are viewed from
a point". So doesn't consciousness vary as well? Isn't it a question of perception once more? Aren't we back to the point which says nothing we know of, or pretend knowing, is actually reality, since what we see is only perception?
Ah I'll go on later now. Got to get back to work. One could always go on with philosophy, that's the beauty of it! I'll post in some other thoughts after reading a few more posts.
