If we really come to see, we have a bunch of politicians who are not able to control our country. Everytime there is a rail accident there is no explanation from the Rail Minister. If there is problem with the airlines also the minister in charge is absconding. If there is a terrorist attack the ministers appear on the scene after everything is over, and there are endless cases of carelessness from our beloved leaders. Besides all this our country is surrounded by troublesome countries all over. On the west we have Pakistan and theri taliban group. In the south there is Sri Lanka, in the east we have Bangla Desh and Burma, and in the north we have China with its Tibetian problem, not forgetting Kashmir too. Does this make India a safe place? Added to all this there are the Hindu extremists and the seperatist groups and States quarelling about water and border disputes. Are we living in one country? I do not think so.

No country is 100% safe, there are limitations on what administration can do as far as safety from loss of life is concerned. Now, addressing the post in respect to India, is the administration taking all what they can do for safety of citizens. Leaving apart the security measures, overall I don't think adequate measures are been taken, is that even possible? From population to safe guard vs resources available, stand point.

This part is just for humor ' take it that way - Forget role of politicians for a second individuals need to learn a lot of skills and be lucky to be safe.

Snap shot ' first 30 minutes to reach work in Mumbai from Borivali to Andheri SPEEZ -> first thing in morning when you come out of ur building, u gotta dodge 7th floor wali Aunty 20 lbs garbage on ur head, then avoid Sharmaji's car who is learning to drive in the complex, thank the lucky stars that the BEST bus which just escape ur shoulder, fight out like hulk, for not being pushed on the tracks by the crowd while local train is just parking, breath hard not to be squished by the crowd' if you managed to get inside, if not then glad u learnt spiderman moves to avoid being hit by electric poles on the track, while hanging on the train door, then pray u new how to balance after escaping life threatening banana cover skid from 32nd stairs on Andheri station. Aren't you best of the country to look forward to next 10:30 hours of day remaining?

Safe is a relative term
If you are one of those who constantly live under the fear the sky is gonna fall any second, It is not
But if you are one of those who took the 7.03 Churchgate and are busy trying to get a nap in, it is safe

Man you make India look so scary lol
Anyways the answer is we are living in one country and you are looking at the issue with a very negative frame of mind,
anyways that's my personal opinion

Every minute something disasterous is happen these days. People go to a temple for a prayer killed outside with a bomb. Parents carrying their kids go out for a walk killed, With the blue buses in Delhi near one person is killed everyday. These days you are not even safe to fly in an aeroplane, so many airplanes we have seen met with so much disasterous accidents. People killed. The students in the school, colleges killing their fellow students, teachers, Terrorism and so on. So my friend life is not safe anywhere these days. If you are alive you are lucky !! 😔

I think that we can not generalize on the world level. There are so many countries/cities, out there, where even one accident in 1 week/month makes a big news.

In any case the problem here is that we have become habituated to hourly/daily accidents, pollution etc, so much, that it feels as if this is normal and is part of everyone's life.

Nevertheless, one thing is sure that our survival instincts are sharper :) than the people from the countries where accidents are very rare.

I agree, aadat padh jati hai..after a while. One day bomb blast next day every one to work. But is that good or bad?
