I think they did that for Rakhee in the beginning to garner NRI votes, and also global TRPs for the show... But it backfired, since Rakhee couldnt dance compared to others... Mangesh's drama - OMG, that was too much, but he still kept getting votes and stayed safe, and he was disqualified due to his hand injury... Mangesh didnt perform for a week and he still got enough votes to stay safe - he wasnt even in the bottom!! So that meant he is a threat, and so was disqualified... In Salman's case, they didnt use lingo drama or love drama or majboori drama, but used a very loving son image who also speaks politically correct words... It's not that they showed his parents once or twice, but that they made his parents speak often, as well as he speaks to them after his act and then go to hug his Mom, and all that were extra air time... But one thing I must say, D gets 100 times air time than Salman had!! Also more TRP stunts and drama too.. As Lachu had said above, as long as we have no personal interaction with these people, we really dont know if they all are what are shown on TV... Even in D's case, I believe he can speak English well... These days with mobile technology and internet revolution in India, even less educated people can pass by with some English...

They didnt just show his parents sitting in the audience!! They were given air time too in most of the episodes to talk, and for Salman to salute his Mom, then go and hug her, etc... They portrayed him as a very loving son towards his mother... But I am sure all the other contestants also adored their mothers just like he did, but were never shown or given air time for them... They showed Vrushali's, Paulson's, Prince's, Siddhesh's, etc parents only when the contestants mentioned that their parents are sitting in the audience. They never showed their parents coming to visit them and giving them a surprise!! They also never showed Bhawana and Khushboo's mother who was sitting in the audience every single time... So there was indeed a different treatment for Salman, whether you agree or not... And it's that hype that made me not support him...

And yes he was the worst dancer in DID 1 he was just lucky nothing else .... He wasn't even closed to Jai, Prince, Mayuresh.......never ever.... 🤢

Yes Salman in my opinion got a lot of air time - they discussed about how crazy the girls were about him etc.

I use to wait for Salman's performance always, but Dharmesh....nah, except for the balloon dance, nothing has really stood out for me. On the other hand, this season Shakti is really good.
