Swadheenta tried getting up in the early morning but her dear husband refused to let her go.At first Swadheenta thought that maybe Adarsh was genuinely in sleep but than she noticed that whenever she tried to get up Adarsh tightened his grip around her waist.😆.She knew he did not want to see Mom's face right now but it was paining Swadheenta to no end to see Adarsh like this.He trusted her so much and she gave this to him in return but Swadheenta had to do something.She could not let Adarsh-Abhay and Jaidev's relationship with Suhasini spoil.It was the only thing that was going to hold Suhasini together throughout this inquiry. Swadheenta had to get to work fast and see what was actually cooking up.Mom always said "Jo dikhta hai who hota nahi".But for all this she needed to get out of bed first 😆.
Swadheenta (Whispering)-I know you are awake Adarsh !!😆
Adarsh (Hugging her)-Than stop trying to get up 😳
Swadheenta (trying to get up)-Adarsh you have a job and I HAVE TO get a job.So we both need to get up and plus I have to meet Dubeyji today.
Adarsh-Are you still trying to make sense that Mom is innocent...
Swadheenta (rolling her eyes)-She might not be innocent in the Allan Broad case Adarsh but there is certainly something going on in all this right now.I am not asking you to support me,I am just asking you to stay silent like you asked me to be yesterday.You do realize what will happen to her reputation as lawyer if proven guilty.Her license to practice could be cancelled.
Adarsh (angrily)-She deserves it Swadheenta.I won't stop you to dig in the matter ongoing right now but you need to concentrate on yourself as well.Appa and Amma are still here.Appa is not at all well.You should go and see him and you talked about that job thing as well.Mom is secondary in your priority right now.
Swadheenta (accepting defeat)-Fine.That matter is secondary.But you still need to let me go.And plus you have to go jogging with Abhay as well.
Adarsh (Kissing on her shoulder)-Ok fine you win.
Swadheenta (Kissing on his cheeks)-Thank You.
Swadheenta got redy and made her way to the kitchen and saw Simmi struggling with the menu for breakfast.Simmi had mentioned to Swadheenta the previous night that she was completely zero in kitchen department.Swadheenta had assured her that she would help her but Simmi had told her that it was Mom's rule that who so ever stayed at home was in charge of Kitchen.First it was Jaya Bhabhi and so she didn't ever set foot in the kitchen but now even Jaya Bhabhi was gone and Swadheenta would be working.It was Simmi who would be seeing the kitchen and other house matters.
Swadheenta (assuring Simmi)-Simmi relax.You will do just fine.Ok what is wrong tell me.
Simmi-The cook is asking for menu of full day.What should I do ?
Swadheenta-What was the routine earlier ?
Simmi-Oh Yes Jaya Bhabhi had complete chart prepared for full day and all three meals.
Swadheenta-Where is it ?
Simmi (trying to search)-It should be here somewhere.Or it could be in...
Jaidev (Handing her over)-Here it is.It was in bedroom.She always kept it there.
Simmi-Thank You Jaidev Bhaiyya.You are a savior.
Jaidev-Swadheenta where is Adarsh ? and also Chotu ? I have not seen both of them since morning.
Simmi and Swadheenta together-Sleeping
Jaidev (shocked)-What ? Both of them.This is highly unusual.
Swadheenta-Bhaiyya I am worried about Adarsh and Abhay.Please do something.
Simmi-Yes Bhaiyya.Half the time Abhay was awake last night.
Jaidev (smiling)-You both don't worry mai baat karta hu unse office ke baad aaj.
Swadheenta (Looking at Simmi)-Simmi mai Abhay,Adarsh aur Jaidev bhaiyya ke liye coffee bana lete hu.You handle the menu part ok.And ty to relax.You will be just fine.😊
Simmi (nervously)-I hope so.
Swadheenta had already prepared the coffee for Abhay,Adarsh and Jaidev and had sent it to their respective rooms.Adarsh would be getting ready so Swadheenta decided to help Simmi a bit just to make her ease into routine.So she made Tea for Mom and Dad and was going to take it outside in the lawn when Abhay came and took the tray from Swadheenta's hand.
Swadheenta (Shocked)-Abhay what is the matter ?
Abhay (calmly)Bhabi aap ya Simmi Mom ya Dad ka koi bhi kaam nahi karege.
Simmi-Baby I know you are hurt par but...
Adarsh-Simmi Chotu sahi kah raha hai.And plus there are servants they will send their tea's and call them for lunch and breakfast.
Simmi (calmly)-Bhaiyya aap logo ke liye kehna aasan hai.But what you don't realize is that it's just me and Mom at lunch now.Do you know hoe awkward it is for me.
Jaidev (explaining)-You take your lunch in the room.It is no problem.We are just living in one house with them.Otherwise we don't have any relation with them aur Agar Abhay aur Adarsh ka unse koi relation nahi hai toh tum dono ke koi obligations nahi bachte unke taraf.
Swadheenta-Ok fine.If that what you want.
Abhay (Handing over the tray to servant)-Mahesh ye chai Mom and Dad ko de aao bahar.
At that very moment Swadheenta received a call from Paddy.Yes the journalist Paddy who had helped Swadheenta in the case.Swadheenta and Paddy were still in touch with each other not as professionals but as friends.Swadheenta loved the straight forward approach of Paddy and respected her very much.She had supported her In thr most tough time of her life.
Swadheenta (Over the phone)-Are you sure ?? Ok Thanks.
Simmi-Swadheenta you look worried all ok ?
Swadheenta (worriedly)-The Chief of Bar Council has called Mom to explain her stand on all the Allan Broad matter.
Abhay-She is going to lose her license to practice isn't she ??
Adarsh-Looks like it.Actually let's have breakfast.
Jaidev-yes come on.
The breakfast had been too much of a silent affair.Maybe because Mom and Dad had joined them for it.Adarsh had been discussing something with Abhay and Jaidev was talking on the phone about work.And Swadheenta and Simmi had been talking about Swadheenta's father's health.
Simmi (in a concerned tone)-How long is the hospital going to keep him Swadheenta ?
Swadheenta (in a worried voice)-They will come to know more clearly once they receive the results today afternoon.
Simmi (in a hesitating way)-Can I accompany you to the hospital this afternoon ??
Swadheenta-Sure why not Simmi.
On the other hand Suhasini and Manohar had been shocked knowing about Ramakrishnan Bhai sahab's health.He had been in hospital ever since he was supposed to leave for Chennai and nobody told them.Suhasini knew it had to be Adarsh and Abhay behind this.Her sons had started hating her this much.SHe knew what Swadheenta would be going through.Suhasini's father too had died when she was very young.She decided to talk to Adarsh about it.
Suhasini (shockingly)Adarsh Ramakrishnan Bhai sahib is in hospital ?
Manohar-You never told about this to us ?
Adarsh-it was not necessary Dad.me and Swadheenta will manage it.
Jaidev-And they are not alone Dad.Mei aur Chotu hai.
Suhasini-Adarsh there are certain relations which are yours but there are relations which are mine and Manohar's as well.They are our responsibility.
Adarsh (angrily)-What exactly are you planning to tell Mamu and Mami ? That I am sorry I was involved with terrorists and that terrorist is responsible for killing your son.How are you going to face them or even Amma and Appa for that matter.
Jaidev-Mom you or Dad going there will only put Swadheenta in odd position.So it is better that you stay away from all of it.
Adarsh-You know what I am done.Swadheenta you wanted to go somewhere so let's go.
Swadheenta-Ok.
Suhasini was beyond saddedned to hear these words from Adarsh's mouth but there was nothing that she could say that could mend his trust on her.She decided to put her plan in action.She was very clear with Dubeyji at the time he had resigned.Not a word about anything to Swadheenta or anybody else.She saw Simmi talking with the cook and knew Simmi must have struggled today but she was proud that she was atleast trying something.
Here Swadheenta was waiting for Debeyji along with Adarsh who had insisted to accompany her just incase.Swadheenta was not feeling great today.Since the time she had woken up in the morning she had been feeling that something bad was going to happen.Up till she had assumed that something bad would happen at home but the situation was already so bad that nothing more can happen.So while talking to Simmi she realized that Appa's reports were due today and she started getting starnge feeling regarding it.
Dubeyji-Good Morning Mam,Sir
Swadheenta-Good morning Dubeyji.You said you wanted to talk about something important.What is it ??
Dubeyji-I heard mam aap ne bhi resign kar diya hai so I wanted to talk to you regarding it.
Adarsh-Are you re considering your decision to resign reconsider. ?
Dubeyji(seriously)-Arre no sir.Not at all.I am a common middle class man.If I get trapped in these inquiries than what will happen to my family.
Swadheenta (calmly)-Than what are you suggesting Dubeyji ?
Dubeyji-Mam me and Suhasini Mam had a partnership deed about 2 years ago according to which if I resign and the firm parallel is diluted that the office building floor would be mine.
Adarsh (slowly connecting the dots)-I am getting a feeling of what you are saying Dubeyji.
Swadheenta (confused)-I am getting half of it Dubeyji but why would you want to work with a lawyer who is fresh and inexperienced ??
Deubeyji (Chuckling)-Mam who said you are inexperienced.Aap apni market mei position dekhye.Everyone wants to work with you.And if it is experience you are worried about than what am I here for.I have worked with Suhasini Mam for almost her entire career.I have seen all types of cases with her.You would only need your assistant.See you have office place,you will have assiatant what else do you need ?
Swadheenta (smiling)-Clients.Dubeyji Mom had huge cleints because of her reputation I am just a starter in this field.Despite of what you say.
Dubeyji (chuckling)-Mam aapne jo case lada tha na who sirf aapni intuition pe aapne lada tha,You had no proof in your hands.WHat makes you think that people will not be able to see that.And what am I here for (Handing a register to Swadheenta)have a look at this.
Swadheenta (scanning through the document) Dubeyji ye toh Mom ke clients ke list hai.How did you get it ?
Dubeyji (explaining)-Mam the situation at firm is far more worse than you think.Everybody each and every client of Suhasini Mam is assured that her license is going to be cancelled.So they started calling me in hurry.Most wanted opinion for new lawyers.That's when I thought about you.I have worked with you as well.I know how you operate.The cleints will go nowhere if they know that they have option.
Swadheenta -And they would trust me ??
Dubeyji-Why do you underestimate yourself Swadheenta Mam.You are a fantastic lawyer.Suhasini Mam never hired a assistant in 30 years of her career and yet she hired you.You won a case against Suhasini Sinha that is huge.Think about it well Mam.I know you very well.You are a hard thinker.
Adarsh-(Looking at Swadheenta)-Why are you so surprised with yourself ?? Swadheenta where are you lost ??
Swadheenta (still surprised)-She puts up fight in everything Adarsh.Why not this firm,this was created by her.Why is she not putting up any fight ??
Adarsh (also in thoughts)-We will think about it later.Right now you need to start thinking about this as well.Come on I will drop you to the hospital.
SWadheenta (Still in her thoughts)No Simmi is coming with the driver.She wants to come with me.You go to the office.
Adrash-Call me after you get Appa's reports.
Swadheenta-Yes.
Swadheenta was continuously lost in thoughts up till the poin when Simmi came over with the driver.Simmi had told Swadheenta that Suhasini had been worried continuously and also that Abhay had argument with their mother-in-law.Both Simmi and Swadheenta were worried about their husbands and their relation with their parents.But Swadheenta was worried about her Appa as well.Appa had never been ill this long.He was the healthiest of all.And he had a sort of stroke the day.Appa and Amma had not told her anything as she had been on trip with Adarsh.She had been highly worried ever since she had came back.Abhay and Jaidev Bhaiyya had been constantly there with Appa and Amma and Mamu-Mami in her absence.
Right before the doctor entered in his cabin Simmi put a reassuring hand on Swadheenta's shoulder indicating to her that everything will be fine.
Swadheenta (Worriedly)-Doctor is my father ok ?? What is wrong with him ??
Doctor-Mrs.Sinha your father has a severe clotting in his brain.I will not sugar coat it.Surgery for blood clotting at this age is not advisable.
Swadheenta (getting angry)-Than what exactly are you saying Doctor ?
Doctor-What I am saying is that his chances of survival are very low at this moment.At maximum I would give 1 month.Not more than that.His clott is too large.Look I know all this is difficult to hear.But if you put himunder surgery than it will be possible that he could lose his entire or partial memory.Rest I leave up to you.
Swadheenta just sat down like somebody had burst a bomb on her.Had not Simmi held her she would hve probably fell down.Her world was coming down in tatters and she could not save him.But Swadheenta maintained her composure and talked to her Amma and Mamu and Mami.Mamu agreed with Swadheenta that taking the risk of surgery was unnecessary when he could lose so much after math of it.Haider Mamu knew that SWadheenta needed to be alone at the moment or she would braek down in front of her parents.Haider requested Simmi to take Swadheenta home.
Simmi's P.O.V
In my entire life I have only seen 2 times when a woman was strong.One is her mother-in-law and second her sister-in-law.SWadheenta was broken from inside.Who would not be.I knew that I always dreaded the day if something happened to her Papa.She just wished she could do something to ease Swadheenta's pain.But I knew that it was not possible.SWadheenta held her grace in front of her parents.I knew that she was worried about the situation at home equally and now this for her.Simmi decided she had to call Adarsh Bhaiyya.
Simmi got Swadheenta home and Swadheenta ran straight to her bedroom.This had not gone unnoticed by Manohar and Suhasini.Simmi wanted to go after her but what would she tell her.Simmi decided to call Adarsh Bhaiyya and inform himabout everything.Simmi was just going to call Adarsh when she heard Suhasini's voice.
Suhasini (in a concerning voice)-Simmi is everything alright ? WHat happened to SWadheenta ?
Simmi (in A dilemma)-Mom who uh actually.Hre father's reports have turned out to be very bad.
Manohar-How bad beta ??
Simmi-The doctor says he is not going to survive beyond a month.Surgery is out of option.
Suddenly Simmi's phone rang and she saw Adarsh calling her and understood that he must have called Swadheenta.Simmi took the call and explained everything to Adarsh Bhaiyya who himself now seem to be very worried for SWadheenta.Adarsh told Simmi to be with Swadheenta for an hour and he would be back by then to which Simmi assured Adarsh than she would be with SWadheenta till he returns.On the other hand Suhasini and Manohar decided that no matter what Adarsh says they had to visit Ramakrishnan in the hospital.
Simmi went to see Swadheenta in her bedroom and SWadheenta had turned into a mess.her eyes looked like she had been crying since the time she arrived back home.
Simmi (Hugging Swadheenta)-Swadheenta please relax.I know nothing I say is going to make you feel better but you have to be strong for your mother.
SWadheenta (trying to wipe her tears)-First Asad...and now Appa...
Simmi-Here drink some water.
Swadheenta (drinks the water from her hand)-Thank You.
Simmi-Swadheenta you need to freshen up first.Come on go and freshen up.I will get you something to eat.
SWadheenta-No Simmi I am not hungry.I don't want to eat anything.
Simmi-Ok Fine but go and freshen up first.
Adarsh had a meeting regarding a report and came back as soon as he could.He had been hell worried about Swadheenta ever since Simmi told him about those reports.He had an inkling that all was not well when Swadheenta did not pick up his phone.Which is why he called Simmi.He reached home and saw Simmi waiting there for Swadheenta.
Adarsh (worriedly)-Is she ok ??
Simmi (in a concerned voice)-No she is not.She has not eaten anything since we have came back and has since been crying.Adarsh bhaiyya take care of her.
Adarsh-You go Simmi.I will be there with her.
Simmi-Ok bhaiyya.If you need anything...
Swadheenta came out and saw Adarsh waiting for her there.Adarsh just saw her and knw that she was in hell.And Swadheenta too could be strong in front of anyone but she knew that the moment she sees Adarsh she had a right to be weak in front of him.Tears just started welling up in her eyes and Adarsh hgged her as tightly as he could.
SWadheenta (in tears)-Adarsh...Appa is not (and started crying)
Adarsh (Just rubbing her back)-Shh just relax SWadheenta I am there with you.
Adarsh and Swadheenta juust sat there on the floor.SWadheenta was still in Adarsh's arms.She just didn't have the strength to get up and walk anymore.She just wanted to fall on somebody and stay there.Adarsh on the other hadn held her tightly.He knew she would be broken inside.Adarsh saw the clock and also that it was time for dinner.She need to eat something.
Adarsh-Swadheenta you need to eat something.You have not eaten ever since you came back.
SWadheenta-I am not hungry Adarsh.But you need to go and eat.
ADarsh (angrily)-I am not going to eat till you eat.
Swadheenta (sadly)-I am tired of fighting Adarsh.First Asad and now Appa.I just want to give up and stop fighting for anybody.
Adarsh (cupping her face)-Hey you are a fighter Swadheenta.You do not lose.We will fight this out together.
Swadheenta (tears forming)-How am I supposed to see him everyday not knowing whether he will see the next day or not.
Adarsh (wiping her tears)-Swadheenta if you fall weak infront of Amma than how is she going to fight.She sees you as her strength.You have to eat something Swadheenta not for anybody else but me.
Swadheenta-But...
