Hi guys...my exams starting next week...so I am really busy...this update should have been done on last Wednesday but I lost the chapter...that is so depressing😭...anyway next update gonna take time...my exams are till Jan 20...plus I am working on another FF on another forum. I have realised it is far easier for me to write sad stuff than happy ones...this chapter took so much effort 😆...hope you enjoy reading.
CHAPTER 15
Swadheenta sat up in bed wide awake. The file Adarsh had procurred for her lay by her side but she wasn't in a mood to look into it. She had spent the afternoon crying, then she had been in a painkiller induced sleep until a few hours ago. She had convinced Asad that she was alright and he should go to his room. So now she was sitting on her bed all alone. The pain in her leg had subsided and with a little help she could go to court the next day but she wasn't in the mindset to. Hence she decided to call in sick.
She heard her phone ring. His name flashed on the screen. She couldn't bring herself to accept or reject the call.
She wasn't angry with him. He had never lied to her or made any claims of having any feelings for her. He had just considered her a friend and perhaps it just never occured to him to tell her. Maybe he thought she already knew. After all Simmi and Abhay knew about it. But she couldn't answer the call. She wasn't sure if she could control her feelings.
He called again. She wondered if he was alright. He wasn't the type to pester someone unnecessarily. She took a deep breath and answered the call.
"Swadheenta , mujhe laga tum so gayi hogi. Main tumhare ghar ke saamne hoon. Tumse urgently baat karni hai. Please baahar aa jaao. " he said in a hurry.
"Is everything ok? " she asked worried .
"Ya. I think so. But its urgent. " he replied.
She scrambled off the bed. Maamu Maami had exchanged rooms with her for the day so that she wouldn't have to climb the stairs. So going out wasn't going to be that difficult.
She closed the door behind her and saw him standing by his car. She limped towards him. He smiled as he saw her.
"Swadheenta, mujhe kuch kehna hai. Bahot zaroori hai. I have no idea what to do. Aise situation meri life mein pehle kabhi nahin aayi. "He blabbered.
"Calm down Adarsh. Bataao kya hua hai. "She said confused.
Before she could understand what was happening he got down on one knee and said
"Miss Swadheenta Ramakrishnan, I love you. Will you marry me?"
Swadheenta was shocked out of her wits. She jerked her hand away from his. What kind of cruel joke was this? He looked at her disappointed and broken. She started walking back to the house. He called her from behind.
"Pagal ho gaye ho tum Adarsh? Tumhari sagaai ho chuki hai aur tum mujhe propose kar rahe ho? What is this supposed to mean? " she shouted tears in her eyes.
She saw him cringe and stood there silently.
"I know Swadheenta. Vanshika se shaadi karne ka faisla mera tha. Mujhe laga main khud kabhi apne liye kisi ko pasand nahin kar sakta. Toh mom ki pasand ki ladki se hi shaadi kar loonga. Phir tum aayi aur sab kuch badal gaya. It was always you. Shraddha ki shaadi mein tumhe pehli baar dekha toh Maine kuch feel kiya. Uss se pehle kabhi maine kisi ke baare mein jaanne ki koshish nahin ki. You drove me crazy. Par woh shaayad infatuation tha. Par ab nahin. In these past few days I have fallen in love with you. Tum mere liye perfect ho, yahin mera dil kehta hai. I tried ignoring it par ab khud se jhoot nahin bol sakta main. I am gonna break my engagement to Vanshika anyway. Tumse pyaar karta hoon. Uss se shaadi kar ke zindagi bar nahin rulaaonga use. I have messed up everything. " he said tears in his eyes.
She melted at the sight. Her heart went out to him. He was in love with her. He wanted her. He thought she was perfect for him. Tears flowed down her cheeks.
"I am sorry Swadheenta. I understand if you dont feel the same. Mujhe bas apni dil ki baat tumse kehna tha. Ab thoda halka feel kar raha hoon. " he said smiling through the tears and opened the door of the car.
She grabbed hold of his hand and stopped him.
"Ek minute Adarsh. Toh tumne apni dil ki baat karke apne bhoj ko halka kar diya. Par mera kya? Meri baat nahin sunn na hai tumhe? " she asked.
He looked at surprised, hope making his eyes sparkle.
"Yes. Mr Adarsh Sinha. I love you too. " she said smilismiling.
He was silent for a moment. He was probably dreaming. She hugged him. This was real. He put his arms around her. A strange warmth filled him.
As they pulled away he saw the tears in her eyes.
"Swadheenta, main jaanta hoon ki yeh sab aasaan nahin hai. Mom ko manaana. Vanshika se rishta todna. Par main sab samhaal loonga. I will find a way out. " he assured her.
"No you won't. We will. Ab jo bhi hoga saath karenge. Tumhara saath kabhi nahin chodoongi ab. "She said looking into his eyes .
They looked at each other silently. A thousand silent promises. Could life be any better?
"What on earth is happening here? " Asad asked pulling them back to reality . He had come down to check on Swadheenta and had been worried to see her gone. Then he had come out to look for her seeing the front door unlocked.
Swadheenta smiled at him and explained everything.
"Thank god aapne khud confess kar diya varna main aapko maar deta. Pata hai aaj meri Freedom kitni royi. Dont ever make her cry again. "Asad said getting emotional.
"I am sorry Swadheenta. "Adarsh said feeling guilty.
"Dont be. I understand."She assured him.
"Well I should go. Kya main kal subah tumhe court drop kar sakta hoon ? After a coffee date? " he asked smiling.
"Yes."She said giving him a smile he loved and went inside the house.

Adarsh returned home and saw Abhay sleeping on the couch in the hall. He had dozed off waiting for Adarsh. Adarsh smiled seeing his brother and didn't wake him up. He covered him with a blanket from his room and sat down in the chair. His heart was still fluttering. Sleep still evaded him but now it was because of the excitement. She loved him. They were ready to fight for each other. With these thoughts in his mind, he dozed off a little later.
His neck hurt and he opened his eyes realizing that he had dozed off. Abhay too was still asleep. He looked at the clock. It was almost 5 in the morning. His mom would come down soon and he had no idea how to explain why they were sleeping here like this. He woke Abhay.
"Bhai, kya hua? Bhabhi ne kya kaha? "Abhay asked sitting up.
"Tujhe kya lagta hai?Adarsh asked faking sadness.
"She rejected your proposal? Woh zaroor naaraz hogi. Ya phir Vanshika ke baare mein soch rahi hogi. I am sure she loves you. "Abhay said impatient and worried.
"I would have killed you if she wasn't. "Adarsh said smiling.
Abhay looked at him surprised.
"She loves me. "Adarsh said giving Abhay a hug.
Abhay congratulated him. Just at that moment they were joined by Jaya and Jai. Jaya had seen Adarsh's car parked in front of the house and checked in his room. She had been worried for him and had told Jai everything and so they had come down looking for him and Abhay.
Abhay broke the news to them. Jaya smiled at Adarsh reassuringly. To his surprise Jai too was happy.
"Adarsh, dont worry. Hum mom ko mana lenge. "Jai had told him.
"Jai bhai, aapne mujhe toh support karne se mana kar diya par Adarsh bhai ki help kar rahe ho? Thats unfair. "Abhay said.
"Aisa kuch nahin hai Chottu. Tujhse uss din aisa nahin kehna chahiye tha mujhe. Main bas naaraz tha ki Mr Ahuja ne mom ki insult ki. Aur phir shaayad mujhe ab ehsaas ho raha hai ki pyaar kitna zaroori hai. "Jai told him.
Jaya was surprised. Was that woman responsible for this change? Had she made him realize the importance of love? Was he gonna leave her?
Adarsh told them that he was meeting Swadjeenta again the next morning and then headed to his room while Abhay decided to inform Simmi. If she found out from someone else she would kill him. So he left to meet her.
Jaya and Jai went back to their room.
"Jaya, thanks for supporting my brothers. "He said.
"Woh sirf aapke bhai nahin hai. Mere devar bhi hai and i care about them. Aur phir mai bhi jaanti hoon ki bin pyaar ke jeena kaisa hota hai. "She responded.
Before he could say another word she grabbed her bathrobe and left, leaving him totally confused.
