The pilots did send out a distress call.. ‘MAYDAY’

Even if the power was down, aircraft engines malfunctioned or something else, why couldn’t the pilots land sooner OR why didn’t the ATC not send aid to rescue the plane?

We dont know anything..but the pilots combined have enough and more experience..so they must have tried it i believe but it dint work out..

Somesay bird hit,some say overload of fuel and raise in temperature, somesay even before starting plane dint have AC and people were drenched in sweat..so right from there it was malfunctioning..we dont know which is true..i feel like our nation is failing our own gullible people ..people in power and people with responsibility arent doing their job well, result of which is this tragedy...

Still death count may increase because in that BJ medical college hosiptal police are saying that the bodies are charred and burned, so they are unable to identify if it is of adult or children..

I saw one person s interview who saw the plane crashing. He mentioned that the pilot took it a bit ahead of the airport. If it had crashed immediately after the airport, about 2000 ppl would have lost their lives he told as many stay there.

There was some empty ground next to the hostel. Obviously the pilot would not know it's a medical college hostel mess as he's from Mumbai.

But those students would have studied so hard to get into a Government medical College.

Many people mention that video someone posted about AC and inflight entertainment not working. I have something to say on that. The video was made in Delhi before the flight departed for Ahmedabad.

I have faced similar situation in another flight..not Air India. It was very hot inside before takeoff. When we checked with the hostess she said its a base flight and it was the aircraft’s first flight for the day. So it wasn’t cool inside. The engines hadn’t started yet. Once its done the AC will start and temperature will be cooler. It may be the same case in that video. Not necessarily malfunction. Can’t say for sure though

Like what can even one say for this..it is heartbreaking ..

I feel these news channels want trps.

It's not good to blame pilots all the time by some ppl who do not know what happened. Pilots also have families . This pilot was 54 years. Must have been very experienced.

In most of the previous accidents they have blamed the pilots only.

Pilots are also overworked. Their schedules have to be arranged properly so that they get rest.

The news agencies get various ppl and ask them to comment by looking at a video that is so far away.

The eye witness who was the survivor told that he heard a huge sound just a few seconds after take off. So must be some issues with the engine. This aspect also should be taken into account while analysing and not just say copilot operated the wrong gear.

It could have been a ground staff s mistake also. Recently they changed some foreign housekeeping and maintenance agency n all airports.
