Now, Sri Lankan player, Lasith Malinga, has been voted as the sexiest cricketer, in a contest conducted by a magazine affiliated to the Barbados Sunday Sun newspaper. Malinga beat Brian Lara, Daniel Vettori, Andrew Flintoff, Makhaya Ntini and Gayle, to win this title.

Sri Lankan cricketers have been a formidable side through the World Cup, but lost out to Australia in the finals.

Young 23 year old Malinga has been an interesting cricketer to watch on the field. His exuberance, together with his typical slinging deliveries have earned him the nickname of "Slinga Malinga," which, fortunately, has not been objected to as illegal or labeled as ball-throwing. Malinga's blond curls, the ring on his eyebrow and his tattooed biceps have made him one of the most recognizable and popular figures of cricket today.
