Adarsh: "One reason why I feel India flounders in important matches of ICC tournaments is this over-experimentation. You have only 2 months to go to the World Cup and it is important that all the main players get enough time and coordination in the middle. Having second-string players playing at different positions in the name of experiment would not work. "

First ODI in ten years for Unadkat, who last played in 2013 against West Indies! Both Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav keep their places in the XI. Interesting to see if Gaikwad opens the batting or if he will come in at No. 3. West Indies, no surprises, decided to not tinker with the winning combo.

Shubman Gill "Not very satisfied with how things have gone on this tour for me. But I have been batting well. It's about the mental resilience and about converting starts into a big one. [Dismissal in the second ODI] it was a case of not executing well. I could have hit over covers than long-off. It was time to step on the accelerator - the mindset was to get towards 270. Not easy for any middle order batter to rotate strike in these conditions. West Indies bowlers have done well and bowled in tight areas. Hopefully we'll be able to turn this around and win the series."

Team India registered victories in the last 10 ODI series against West Indies. The Men In Blue won the last two series they played against West Indies with a 3-0 margin but then they suffered a loss in their first ODI to the Windies on Saturday. Many cricket pundits said that India lost the game because of a strange playing XI as they rested senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Windies’ on the other hand will look to end the series by winning the third ODI after they failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup for the first time in their history.

Samuel Badree and Shakera Selman at the pitch report. Bright and sunny, cloudless blue skies. The square boundaries at 65 meter from each end, the cover and midwicket 74 and 75m from the broadcast end. Dark and hard pitch, there may be a bit of moisture in it. The grass on the surface is quite dry.
