So a fitting tribute to Jhulan Goswami - as India whitewash the series. She ends her career on a high, and her legacy will be carried forward by the new crop and the others to follow.

It had been at Lord's after all for such a momentous occasion to be celebrated in the way it eventually was done. One thing's for sure - not many will be forgetting Goswami's final game for India for a long, long time to come.

A dramatic end to this historic series!!

Deepti Sharma to Davies, OUT!! Charlotte Dean Run Out!! Extraordinary scenes at Lord's. Pretty surreal to be honest. A controversial ending (depending on which way you want to look at it) to the game as Deepti Sharma sees Charlotte Dean out of her crease and wandering forward before she completes her delivery stride, Deepti watches all this and calmly knocks the bails off.

It's in the Laws of the Game and is a perfectly allowed mode of dismissal. Deepti walks away towards her team-mates who are all giggling around even as the umpires refer to the third umpire.

The decision is relayed on the big screen to loud boos from the Home of Cricket crowd. Dean is in tears, Ecclestone and the others on the balcony can't quite believe what they are seeing. But that's the end of the game. Charlotte Dean run out (Deepti Sharma) 47(80) [4s-5]

There is a vast difference between Dean's dismissal and Stuart's refusal to walk off after nicking a ball.

In Stuart's case, the ball would no way change its direction in that angle without hitting something. The something is clearly Stuart's bat. If it is caught behind by a keeper, then a batter can say, it is a feather touch and I missed it. But not this one where the ball was caught by a fielder in the slips. In this case Stuart was totally wrong and misused the system by not walking off after he was legally dismissed.

Why the umpire did not give him out is beyond me.

Coming to yesterday's dismissal, Deepti was well within her rights as a bowler to Mankad Dean when she noticed Dean out of her crease while she still has the ball in her hand.

There is an unsaid rule that the bowler or fielding team needs to give a warning before they actually Mankad someone. But, that was an unsaid rule, so, why should fielders bother to follow an unsaid rule?

Like Harmanpreet said, Deepti had presence of mind to remember and utilise the rule while Dean was totally ignorant of the rule.

Both were trying to win the match and "at any cost" I must add.

Had the English girls remembered any such rule, I am sure they would have gladly used it too. Spirit of the game ko goli marke.

England and Australia should blame themselves for torturing the tourists with all sorts of "within the rule behaviour" such as bodyline, underarm throw, verbal aggression to name a few and when they are getting the taste of their own medicine suddenly they are crying spirit of the game.

Cheers..

To all the English people, never forget all the things you did in the name of "ruling more than half the world" and so called "indentured labour" which was just a fancy name for slavery.

Whatever they do it's okay example CWG match of Indian women hockey team Timer nahi chala. If game is going your way then it's okay to change spirit of game

Next time have presence of mind and out someone like this if you can. your spirit of game!!
