The IPL 2012 transfers were held on Feb 4,2012.Let us analyze what went on here from each team's perspective and see where the situation stands now.

1)Delhi Daredevils-
After losing the plot in IPL 2011,Delhi Daredevils have tried to complement their squad by strengthening their middle order. While they had already got Kevin
Peitersen during the trading window, today they bought Mahela Jayawardene for $1.4 million which is an excellent choice and will surely lend stability to
them. Also Andre Russel is a superb choice as he can bat, bowl and field with equal ease. Now their line up with Sehwag and Warner at the top,KP,Jayawardene
Venugopal Rao and Naman Ojha in the middle and bowlers of the calibre of Morne Morkel,Umesh Yadav and Irfan Pathan,is definitely more formidable.

2)Mumbai Indians-
They were very active today and made some smart choices.Firstly, they managed Herschelle Gibbs for a lowly $ 50000 and then, latched up Mitchell Johnson
for his base price of $300,000.Sri Lankan all rounder,Thisara Perera and South African Robin Peterson were their other buys. With having already latched up
Dinesh Karthik and Ojha during the transfer window, their squad looks really strong with appropriate blend of youth and experience.

3)Chennai Super Kings-
Their sole buy today was Ravindra Jadeja for an extravagant $ 2 million in addition to an undisclosed amount.Initially they were tied with Deccan Chargers over
Jadeja but then came out trumps during a secret bidding price.I just can not help but wonder if Jadeja deserved such an astronomical price given the amount of
talent the player brings to the table. The memory of Jadeja screwing up big time during the 2009 and 2010 ICC T-20 world Cup has surely faded away from the
minds of people.

4)Pune Warriors-
They did'nt make a single buy today. With star player Yuvraj Singh all set to miss out this season of IPl owing to a lung tumor,I guess they may have erred
a little bit. They have retained Sourav Ganguly for $ 400,000 and he is likely to lead them.

5)Kolkata Knight Riders-
They have bought explosive wicket keeper Brendon Mccullum for $900,000 million and he will surely add to their firepower and I guess he is a very good buy
for them.Surprisingly, they have gone in for little known West Indian spinner Sunil Narine ahead of England's Graeme Swann. We have to wait and see how that
works out for them.In the bowling department, they have bought Marchant De Lange, the Soth African quick who got a 7 wicket haul on debut against Sri Lanka
this December.

6)Royal Challengers Bangalore-
During the transfer window they had retained dynamic opener Chris Gayle for $550,000.Then they got former Kochi player,Murali, relatively cheap for $220,000.
Though age is not on his side, but he can prove to be quite a handful in this format. They bought Vinay Kumar for an astonishing $ 1 million, which is again
too much considering the mediocricity of the player. In my view, this was a poor choice.

7)Deccan Chargers-
They started their proceedings with Parthiv Patel for whom they had to part with $650,000.In my view, this was a smart choice. Then they opted for Australian
Daniel Harris, shelling out $700,000 for him.He is a gamble worth taking. Also they will be without the services of Pragyan Ojha, whom they transferred to
Mumbai Indians. But with Amit Mishra and Cameron White,i feel that their spin department would not suffer although they could have gone in for an attacking
batsman to supplement their batting.

8)Kings XI Punjab-
They bought Ramesh Powar, former India spinner for $ 160,000 and they were justified in this buy according to me.Their other buys were former Pakistan
and now British national Azhar Mahmood, who can add variety with both bat and ball. Also they bought Australian quick James Faulkner, who had made his debut in
the T-20 clash between India and Australia on Feb 1.

9)Rajasthan Royals-
They went for Australian veteran Brad Hodge for a price of $ 475,000.In my view,he is a little slow for T-20 cricket and with Rahul Dravid already in the side,
their batting may be found wanting.West Indian all rounder Kevin Cooper also found a place in the squad.
