Medicine...

Ok ..its been bugging me for ages..😳 ..i dunno why...but why are sooo many people opting to study medicine at uni these days?

I mean in a particular year's batch of student most of the science student go for medicine..its hard to get into..and its a prestigious job..i agree. but still its quite puzzling to see sooo many people getting into medicine. DO you not think there will end up being a saturation of doctors at a certain point in time?😳 Just my point of view.

We can actually take an example from IF members😆 I am sure a majority of the students here are medical students.In my year...most of my friends went for medicine.😆

Well i think it might as well be that its just me who is being completely mistaken here. Please do clear my confusion.

here we go..😆 i was pretty sure a lot of I-F members would be or would be going into medicine.😳

because, as the years go by, so many career fields are dropping in numbers (like engineering), but healthcare will always be present. i think that in this time and age, healthcare is probably one of the only fields that will provide a secure future (stable job, good money, etc.)

i dont think that there would be a saturation of medical professionals as the health care sector is ever growing... and considering that we're living in modern soceites where dieseases are becoming more prevalent.
Finally, I beleive that being in a medical field is a great privilege.What can be more satisfing than helping people everyday. I know its thorugh the will of GOD and doctors can just help.. as one to cure is the Almighty...I feel like this because im also aiming to study it........ 😳 😊

i wanted to go into medicine too..but now i'm thinking about going into liberal arts

I'm not in medecine as in doctor but I am in sciences as they interested me more, finding the cure for cancer is more prestigous than being a doctor😉

Its not just because of money that it offers... its that a job of doctors is the well respected and is on a really high level.

A career in medicine is not for everyone.
If you want to be a doctor and go for medicine, you should like to help people. You should be willing to study a lot. Getting into medicine is a dream of many people.
If you go for medicine, you get to give a gift to someone new everyday by just helping them.

i huess that's right... but when that saturation point is reached, medicine will not be the 'fashion' sbject anymore...
the competition is due to the lack of medics in the developing parts of the world... once that matter is resolved, more people will start taking other subjects...
I personally want to study medicine even if i have to pay my life for it 😃
