  1. Because you never learned dimensional analysis, you have been working at a fast food restaurant for the past 35 years wrapping hamburgers. Each hour you wrap 184 hamburgers. You work 8 hours per day. You work 5 days a week. You get paid every 2 weeks with a salary of $840.34. How many hamburgers will you have to wrap to make your first one million dollars?"

this one too please chemistry

  1. At one time Rigel IV, a class M planet. had a system of weights and measures called the Bozo system. This system was created and used by the Bozonians, who lived on a continent in the Northern hemisphere, and had all of the deficiencies of the current English system on earth. The relationships between the various units used for length in the Bozo system are given below:
    • 325 cubebs = 1 furbish
    • 6 furbishes = 1 nautical smile
    • 20 nautical smile = 1 minor league
    • 3 minor leagues = 1 major league

Using the above conversion factors determine the number of cubebs a Bozonian would have to walk if his doctor recommended that he walk 2 major leagues each day to maintain cardiovascular health.

last one por favor

A high School senior was applying to college and wondered how many applications she needed to send. Her counselor explained that with the excellent grade she received in chemistry she would probably be accepted to one school out of every three to which she applied. [3 applications = 1 acceptance] She immediately realized that for each application she would have to write 3 essays, [1 application = 3 essays] and each essay would require 2 hours work [1 essay = 2 hours]. Of course writing essays is no simple matter. For each hour of serious essay writing, she would need to expend 500 calories [1 hour = 500 calories] which she could derive from her mother's apple pies [1 pie = 1000 calories]. How many times would she have to clean her room in order to gain acceptance to 10 colleges?

184 hamburgers/hour x 8 hours/day x 5 days/week x 2weeks/$840.34

= 17.516719 hamburgers/$
1$ is earned from 17.516719 hamburgers
Therefore 1 million (1x10^6) dollars are earned from 17.516719 x 10^6
= 17,516,719 hamburgers
Ans: 17,516,719

2 major leagues x (3 minor leagues/1 major league) x (20 nautical miles/1 minor league) x
(6 furbishes/1 nautical mile) x (325 cubebs/1 furbish)
= 234,000 cubebs
Ans: 234,000

10 acceptance x (3 applications/1 acceptance) x (3 essays/1 application) x (2 hours/1 essay) x
(500 calories/1 hour) x (1 pie/1000 calories)
= 90 pies
I think something is missing in the question. It asks how many times she has to clean her room. But no relation between the number of pies and the number of times she cleans the room is given.

Heyy.. I need help with my stats homework I missed my lecture so i have no idea how to do this question. I looked through my notes but its not really helping me.. Please help :) thanks alott!!
A standard deck of cards consists of 52 cards. There are 13 cards in each of four suits- clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. Within each suit, there are 13 denominators- Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen and King, the last three of which are known as "face cards".

a) we have two shuffled decks of cards and we randomly select one card from each deck. The outcome of interest is the suit of each of the two cards selected. List the sample space.

b) Suppose the outcome of interest is the denomination of each of the two selected cards. How many outcomes would be containedin the sample space?
c) what is the probability of selecting two face cards?
d) What is the probability that the same suit is selected from each deck?

e) what is the probability of selecting two hearts or two 7's?
