I do think online watching on official platform matters somewhere , otherwise why'd they choose CID to be on Netflix ? Do we even realize how big that is ? It's HUGE !
Let's face it , such a decision can not be taken only based on trp , which was not that great . Sony shows generally have low ratings , except for TMK , as their shows are targeted for niche viewers .
So in conclusion, online viewing parameters for CID must be quite good.
Agree that this will expose our beloved show to wider audience across the world as fans can easily access it from many parts of the world .
When sony became the no 1 channel in 2011 most of its shows such as CID, Crime Patrol Dastak, and BALH were getting good ratings. Sony have generally relied on their weekly shows to keep them afloat in GRP, with the exception of Bade Acche Lagte Hai but the show did not get good TRP in 2013-2014. And what does TMK mean?
