He did for both but not in CID. In Tarak mehta. Now every actor does this. I also hate it

No here I don't agree with you. Before they telecast they episode , they will do a huge publicity. WIll be record which will reach new heights. Guinness book & all. So lots of viewvers who don't watch CID will watch. Same happened with my friends & even me when that 111 case happened, I wasn't very regular that time. But guinness book is guinness book .

very true. Even I may bunk it. .. but one can never say...duo may be present together in other scenes. 😛

Varun and kriti visiting shows is digestable as they need to promote themselves being establishing actors..NOM to their fans. But SRK and KAJOL are established actors and they don't need a publicity as such. Even after watching the episode of Cid my Dad and bro would still say they'll not watch it. Such promotions usually do not increase audience for movies.👎🏼

The way I see it is that every movie a new marketing gimmick comes out. Sometimes it's a game, sometimes a contest, and sometimes a TV promotion. And when one person does it everyone follows.

Salman did it with Wanted. At that time it was understandable. He was going through a low phase in his career and CID was doing well. So they went ahead with it. Then Aamir decided to pick up on it and do it as well especially given that his role in Talaash was of a cop. Now every other big name movie is promoted on CID. At this time SRK couldn't risk not doing something like this because someone or the other would question why he isn't coming on CID and make a big deal out of it.

To top it off, the trailer did receive mixed reviews. Not everyone is hyped up about it. It's competing against SLB's Bajirao Mastani, which has received much more positive reviews. So these promotions are needed.

Why else do you think SRK would go on BB9 suddenly? Everyone knows that he and Salman have made up and Varun and Kriti were already on the show promoting the movie. Then why does he have to go? In my view there are 2 reasons: (1) To cement the fact that he and Salman have reconciled, and (2) It would look weird if only Varun and Kriti went when the bigger hype is around SRK and Kajol.

I'm not happy that another movie is being promoted on CID, but even I was left shocked when I came on yesterday and read that SRK is coming on CID. And at this point I think that's needed. Not just for SRK and Dilwale, but also for CID.
