True on both counts. The stories have went progressively from bad to worse from 2008 itself, to be honest (with a few exceptions). I used to analyze episodes and suggest pros and cons and all until 2012 or so... then realized it's just not worth it. They don't put even 0.1% passion into the vast majority of the stories. It's merely a factory now.
