A very very Happy Teacher's day to everyone. I remember some of my dearest teachers who taught me, who appreciated me for getting good marks, who punished me for some of the naughty stuff I did...some teachers who cut marks in class tests so that I score well in the board exams...I remember all of them with utmost respect. Somewhere I do feel bad for all the pranks we played on them...and thanking them for forgiving us because we were kids.
I would like to bore you further with one incident which happend in my 10th std pre-final maths exam.
I always had a tendency to do an extra problem even if there was a choice question...so that even if one goes wrong, I would get marks for the extra question attempted and the wrong question would be ignored in the 'choice'.
In my 10th Std pre-final exam (the one conducted by the school before the board exams) I wrote a formula for 'equation of a line using 2 sets of co-ordinates' wrong. I interchanged the x and y in the formula
(y-y1) = ((y2-y1)/(x2-x1)) * (x-x1). My LHS had (x-x1) and so on.
This was obviously wrong. This was actually an extra question which I had attempted, and my other answers were all right. My teacher cut marks for this. When we got our results, I was pissed off...I went to the staff room and created a scene...fought for those 5 marks. My maths teacher Mrs Meenakshi refused to budge. She said that she was doing this so that I don't forget this formula in my life! I was very angry for a few days. But when a similar question came in the board exam, I remembered the formula perfectly and then realised how right my teacher was! Look, even after all these years, I remember that formula by-heart. Wonder where my teacher is...she has retired from my school...wish I could meet her some day...😊
Sorry to bore you all ...😳
