Well CID has had actors playing criminals and then getting to become a CID officer and vice-versa. This is nothing new, its been a trend in episodic series. Actors come play various parts and go.
Since the thread started with Jasveer, she has played a criminal in The Mysterious Gift (aired 4-Aug-2006) and Case Of The Talking Parrot (aired 25-May-2007). She joined as a CID officer in Maut Ka Aashirwad (aired 14-May-2010) after a span of 3 years. If it was not for the re-runs this point would not have mattered.
This is not the only example, our very own Aditya Srivastav played a criminal in THE CASE OF THE STOLEN GUN - 1 (aired 21-Oct-1998) and joined as a cop in THE CASE OF THE STOLEN DYNAMITE - 1 (aired 21-Jul-1999).
Amarr Upadyay first played a CID officer in Murder In The Safety Vault (aired 12-May-2006) and then a criminal in Return Of The Clown (aired 17-Aug-2007)
A lot of actors who were CID officers in the early part of 1998 before the CID Team took shape (earlier there was no team, ACP would head a bunch of officers who kept changing) have played criminals in stories later. Like the actor who played the criminal in The Case Of The Killer Machine (aired 7-Dec-2007) was a CID officer in KISSA ANJAAN AAWAZON KA aired in early 1998.
That is fine, but my problem is the same set of support cast is ebing used since 5-6 years now. We have the same faces, doing the same things. For example the person who played the criminal in Bhootiya Qatil (aired 24-Jul-2009) has played the criminal so many times that when we see him on the screen even without knowing what part he has to play, we just know he is the one. Add to that these actors, if that is what we should be calling them are horrible at what they do. They just can't act. We need better actors and different set of faces now. The look and feel of the show is got totally monotonous and the same set of side actors is one of the biggest reasons for it.

No dear I am not from any particular forum...I have been a follower of this show when it was launched way back in 1995 on sony. I may not have tht amazing memory like you guys have abt the show...but i have watched many episodes and these kind of shows have always excited me...
I hardly watch saas-bahu sagas or rona-dhona types. for me investigation, crime, murders crime solving have always been a cup of tea. I am a quite a fan of this genre. not only CID, I have been a follower of many such shows i am sure u haven't even heard of...but they belongs to the same genre
But yes CID did disaapoint me in one area -where girls are concerned...and Believe me no one would like a girl on this show to act as saas-bahu or whatever😕😕
cid makers have never given importance to the female cops and thats a reality...
Once i got in touch with Mr B.P. Singh and asked abt this partiality, and do you know what he said?? he said that 'Female cops can't connect with the audience and thts why they keep changing them'🥱🥱🥱
Now even if take crime solving show in the west, u will find atleast one lady doing some great crime solving, but here wonders what drives them to keep distance with them leaves a question mark😕
But now its clear why they think so......i mean if the forum members here thtt tht gals are good for only rona dhona in saas bahu shows....then blaming the makers...its the head on the viewers as well...🤢

we have discussed this topic here, do take time to read
Till date we have had 18 Women (Cop + Forensic) in CID. its not like Women were never given their due. Asha, Niyati and Anjalika got their share of screen time and importance. And after a long long time Tasha seems to have been liked by many but she hardly get anything to do since the daily soap actress joined as new cop..
The problem is FW has cast such useless actresses who could never have connected to any kind of audience. They just got new younger stick-thin models in the name for Cops. To make an impression you need strong actresses, Asha left 6 years ago and we still miss her. That is the kind of impact she left on most of us. She has by far been the perfect cop IMO, Tasha is the next best but still has along way to go. How could Layanyas and Kaveris be given any kind of importance. They were best when they kept their mouths shut. The problem is that FW never paid attention at casting the right actresses, no wonder they could not connect with the audience.

Its good Know Tweety that you are an old viewers of CID. Yes Fireworks never made such attempt about the female cops. But there should be at least 2 or 3 female cops in CID. There are lots of good actresses in industry who are looking for such impact roles. But they have not given the deserving chances. Its really sad to see these problems keep coming up till now.
Fireworks Desperately needed a female cop after Asha left. But They never searched for that. And presently they have two vital females in lead. But they are not getting used as they should be. It will be bogus if someone said Female cops can't connect with audiences. Look at CSI or 24 . The ratio of male and females are almost same.

I dont remember the characters name..
but i think only 4 actresses have got the best limelight from the shows by counting the screenspace and in promos..
Ashwini , Shweta Kawatra (she was my fav in Cid special bureau as niyati pradhan) Mona and Smita Bansal...
Smita Bansal got much attention as a daily soap actress but she never made an impact as a cop.
Shikha Singh from LRL the actress who was seen in one episode, she told me tht she got the offer to be a cop on the show btu she rejected it because she knew what future does the female cops have in this show have? doing it or not doing it is equal. well i agree on tht point of hers.
