The good old 'Bharat Ek Khoj' is being shown NOW (Sunday 8PM) on DD Bharti. Felt good hearing that title song - Sristi se pehle sat nahi tha...asat bhi nahin...antariksh bhi nahin, aakash bhi nahin tha....LOVELY.

I remember the lyrics very well !!

Thanks for the link Prabha dii !!! Maninee Mishra is indeed a good actress and capable of doing better but don't know why she just isn't !!!
Siddhanth one of my favourite most shows !!! I've wish it continued !!! I started watching this show when I saw Aswini Kalsekar's name in the credits and liked it a lot !!! The lead Actor and Ashwini both are just superb in the show !!!

Maybe this is the thread to discuss Chandrakanta.

It started off on DD in the 90s...I think 95-96 to counter attack the cable channels.

It boasted of a very good cast -

Shahbaaz Khan (why does a good actor like him do crappy roles?)

Pankaj Dheer(I grew up watching him as Karna and he ensured that Karna becomes my favourite character in Mahabharat)

Rajendra Gupta (who is a good actor, but how stupid was his dumb act as Shani...he was supposed to be dumb, but we could hear him speak all the time and the others could perfectly hear his thoughts)

Irrfan Khan

Mamik

Durga Jasraj

Sudha Chandran

Kritika Desai (our dear Madam Zara)

Shikha swaroop (she was Shraddha Musale's elder sister)

Rupa Ganguly(She did a decent job as Draupadi in Mahabharat)

All very good actors, but what a lousy story....people changing form at will, disappearing and apparing at will, drinking snake poison, dead body being embalmed and what-not.

Everyone who died came back with a different name. Everyone was playing 3-4 roles.

YUCK!!!!

Thankfully the govt stepped in and stopped it midway as it was promoting violence.

You bet it was a mess. It was supposed to be based on a book with the same name. God how could anyone imagine such a mess. I remember Kritika Desai had 3-4 roles. It was crazy. What was the most amzing part is that I hardly saw Chandrakanta act, I hadly saw her in the story which was named after her. IT was a story about everyone else but her.

There was vishkanyas, there were nagins, Kritika Desai was dead and was going to be cremated when her dead body was suddenly stolen and a miracle a dead person turned alive. Seems K seris took inspiration from this very seris. LOL
