I am sorry guys...I have to use some very strong words here, but this is how I feel these days after watching CID.
We all know CID episode standard has gone down drastically in the last 2 months...but didn't know they were in such bad shape. First of all they have no proper script to make a 1 hour episode. So they show a scene of Fredricks sleepwalking and catching a thief. Still they have nothing to drag on for an hour, so they show Salunkhe shooting 4 bullets into the water in detail, filering it out, Tarika adjusting her microscope etc etc to extend it to 1 hour.
Actor Aditya Srivastav has still not stepped out of his orange shirt and brown blazer. He looks literally bored and has probably refused to appear in the climax scenes as he has better things to do.
The ACP has nothing else to do, so he questions each and every bodyguard personally for 5 minutes, when a few months back, such tasks were done by others in the background and reported to the ACP through phone or in person at the bureau.
And the plot???? An actor was shot...firing from both sides...nothing to really investigate. So they insert a pin into the dead man's forehead. If he had not died from the pin, he would have died from the assassin's bullet, or he would have died from the bodyguard's bullet. Big deal...
I thought that on Jan 1, the CID team members would at least wish each other like they did for Christmas, Diwali etc. Didn't expect such a horrible start to CID in 2010.
There is some serious problem with the team. They have definitely shot 15-20 episodes in one go in Sep-Oct and handed it over to Sony TV. The actors were probably made to work overtime at that time, so they look tired and bored.
It might also be that they are trying to wind up the show...so they are making bad episodes so that the public opinion doesn't force them to continue. CID was such a good show and has given us so many good memories...how can Sony TV and the makers of CID do this to fans like us?
I am sorry for the rant. In the ACP's own words 'baat andar rakhne se pet dard hota hai'. I had to vent it out. I am going to boycott CID on Fridays till I read atleast 2-3 consecutive good reviews from this site.

Nothing to say sorry about. You're absolutely correct and the topic is very coherent. I have no idea where the storyline leads and the future of CID is not looking good at all. There is no comparison between the old cases and the present ones. Even the crime serials on DD are better and more interesting. It may be that CID is going through a rough patch, but I feel(not that I want it) that the end is near. BP Singh is running out of ideas because of old age or maybe concentrating more on his other show, Aahat. All I have to say is this: CID should end if they have the same plots, but must end with a high. But if it has to continue and get high TRP's, they better step it or get a new production team.

I agree, visrom. Anyone watching the older cases can confirm the quality of the show has seriously gone down since late 2008. Now I feel like I'm watching a live-action version of Scooby-Doo and gang. I may be wrong but I think the reason is that the writers no longer put in the effort and dedication which made CID gold all those years ago. The show has thousands of viewers and is immensely popular on Indian TV, so they take it for granted, take shortcuts and create some generic, passable story. Now the stupid jokes, antics and bhooth/aatma trash is hurting it even more. What a waste of some real acting gems like ACP, Abhijit and Daya. I don't blame them if they're bored of doing the same rubbish everyday. Mr. Satam once said he loves to do CID because Singh sir creates a new and fresh story every time and it's fun working with him. Which is exactly what is missing nowadays. I'm praying, literally PRAYING that the show picks up its charm again and continues for many more years.

Running out of ideas is no excuse. Why is it that almost every case I see now is based on the same format and basic, simplistic plot lines? Cannot they take inspiration from the so many real-life incidents in the world, crime thriller novels in the market and work it into a proper work of fiction? Heck, they can take hints from the older cases themselves and work long the lines of that. All I know is they're not doing the research and putting enough effort, and I'm not pleased with that. I apologise if I sounded harsh, but I don't want my childhood classic show to end prematurely because of some execs' irresponsibility.

Don't think we don't like CID. We just want the best for it. Jab kisi ke ma-baap apne bacche ko daate hain, uska matlab yeah to nahin ki woh use pyar nahin karte hain. Woh to uske bhalai ke liye daatte hain

I completely agree with you, Ravi ji. Nowadays it's not realistic and there's no such thing as 'climax' within the show. I feel that Firework Productions is only out to get TRP's, and not to entertain the audience. However, I think they don't realize that if they concentrate on entertaining the audience, the TRP's will rise by itself. I just look at shows like CSI etc, and just shake my head because they incorporate so many important details in 1 show and sometimes they still have time enough to show a side-story. However, in CID, after they show the crime being commited and the body being found, in the bureau, they show Fredericks talking about his wife and moaning at the same time while Vivek and Tasha make fun of him. Eventually, everyone comes in and makes fun of him. In the middle of the investigation, when they enter the forensics lab, Abhijit is seen praising Tarika. B.P. Singh thinks all this is funny and maybe, uses this as a space-filler. But why don't they understand that it's not funny, it's a waste of time and of electricity.

Yeah Debayon, it's especially sad because even a little more effort could make the case much better.

also, i think if u give the writers a one month break and make them sit down and script amazing stuff then the show can be saved.

also ask daya and acp to lose weight.

I think they need a completely a new creative team and take a break to think about reinventing the show from scratch. It's sad to see the state of the show now. :(
