Radhika5, why didn't I think of such a simple suggestion? Oh well, if I had then it may not have casued the drama I am witnessing with some ppl running helter-skelter!
To answer your question - as I have observed in the past few months, stickies are for "friends" and "elites" and threads are for "aam junta" and "plebes", like you and me.
[Def. of plebes -
  1. the lower class in ancient Roman society
  2. the common people; the masses]

If you ever wanted to know why France had the French Revolution, here in lies your short answer - the battle of the common man and the arrogant French monarchy that walked all over the common man!!!!!!!

I am not advertising or doing PR for any particular show or entity affiliated with Zee TV. I was simply asked to share my experiences in speaking with Samta Sagar ji and that is what I've done. I'm not ordering you or other forumers to watch SSBS, I am simply commenting that Samta ji is good on that show and if you admire her as an actress you will enjoy her on that show. I'm sure if one day Avinash and Rubina get work on other serials, members here will not hesitate to push those shows and tell all of us to watch them. What you choose to watch or not is none of my business. I am simply using this thread as a platform to again thank Samta ji for her courtesy and kindness. How is that any different from radev24, dg86, or anyone else who met Avinash and Rubina during their whirwind US and West Indies tour describing their interaction with them and appreciation of them?
Alas...I have no children in Columbia University School of Journalism. Both of my children are still in elementary school. But I sure would be a proud parent if either of them got accepted into Columbia. Waise tho I do have a sister-in-law in Columbia Teachers College. Chalo, koi tho mere parivaar se Columbia mein hai! 😆 Happy Navratri and Diwali to you both!

Sandeepa,

I have nothing to say to a person who breaks rules and talks as if nothing as happened and is the most righteous.

(On the Highlighted) As if it is not enough that a member from the DT has broken rules, instead of accepting and rectifying the mistake, instead of condoning the mistake, encouraging others to break the rules as well is something that should make the DTs hang their heads in shame once again.

I would prefer to talk to someone who knows IF rules and understand them.

Happy Navratri and Diwali to you too.

Hi Sandeepa, I appreciate your taking time out for an explanation. I read you response and let me respond to things that caught my attention.
If Mishti's thread did not play the yo-yo game for a few hours yesterday, I may never have caught Samta thread, as my foray into sticky world is like the spotting of the blue moon - ONCE IN A WHILE - when someone pms me a link. I really appreciate you, Eva, Anita and Anu communicating with her and sharing her experience with the forumers.
In the past Tila and others who have communicated with Avi or Rubina have written enthusiastically (you know how Tila is!) about it, but I don't recall the posts as stickies for several weeks.
In fact, Radev24 met with AviNa LAST weekend and her thread did not become a sticky until I posted in this thread this afternoon. Was it to counterbalance DT "priviledges" in making Samta's thread a sticky - applying a non-discrimination policy after the fact? I was watching very carefully since yesterday and it was quite an interesting revelation.
Can you tell me how that determination was made, so I know not to "fuss" in the future? Is there a guide, a rule book, you follow behind the scenes?
By the way, did I use the word "ordering" about you pushing SSBS in CB forum? I checked and NOPE! I did not, but reading this and the previous thread you have to consider the reader's viewpoint as well when writing. When all the pieces are put together, the final picture is all that matters and my picture came up with what I wrote about - that there is some connection between Samta in SSBS and the CBians being "told" to watch the show. I am sure you did not mean to but the message was pointing in that direction.
About Avi and Ruby working in other shows, I can tell you that personally I would not push any show because I follow the forum rules. If I have used another show, it was used in context of the quality or storyline but not as a "suggestion" to someone to watch the show.
You compared Radev24 and DG86's threads to yours. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE - neither of them were stickies - a sign of priviledge. It is all about appearances again. DG's is still in the main topic section the last time I saw. The Mauritius forumers' posts were in the main topic section as well. We all visited threads we were interested in and posted along the way. Additionally, DG86 and Radev24 are not promoting/mentioning another show when talking about AviNa's encounters.
I interpreted the rule that I posted in the original post to mean that we cannot discuss other shows in CB forum. I am sure if I were to do that with shows I occasionally watch, I would get a warning from the DTs. Since I am a rule-abiding forumer, I have stuck to my guns but I have seen plenty of posts closed in my short stay in this forum.
I am in a service providing business and I always lecture my workmates about perceptions, perceptions, perceptions!
So, it seems like you are the one taking classes at an NY University. Congratulations and I look forward to Samta's interview for your coursework (I am guessing!). Please PM me when you do. You are indeed a good writer and I wish you the best! Our family's kids are all educated in ivy-league schools and we are ever so proud of our kids as you should be of your SIL. Love Columbia's campus!
I wish you and your family a Happy Navratri and Diwali too!

I like Samta. She was good as Devki, but now that she is on SSBS, shouldn't this thread / sticky be on the SSBS forum?

Oh!! also, may be someone should start her FB fan page. That way everyone can participate--beyond the forum.

Just my thoughts----these will give Samta a much bigger fan following.

(BTW: what's the difference between thread and sticky and why some things are threads and others are stickies?)

radhika5 - I agree with you this thread/sticky should also be on SSBS forum besides CB forum ... but I don't agree with your comment "but now that she is on SSBS, shouldn't this thread / sticky be on the SSBS forum" .. so are you trying to say that since there is no CB she should not be on the CB forum? If that is what you mean than all those threads and posts relating to other actors from CB, i.e., Avinash, Rubina and others, should not be on this CB forum either. Why should there be a discrimination among actors?

This thread has been created to convey Samta ji's message to her fans who admire and appreciate her talent regardless of which forum they belong to ... at the end of the day this post is all about Samta Sagar's message to her fans ... being an admirer of her talent myself, I am of personal opinion that this post should be posted on all of the forums and websites worldwide representing the shows of which Samta ji is also a part of ... I will make every effort to do so ... why deprive her fans from reading her message to them.
Also, thanks for your FB fan page suggestion for Samta ji ... in this regard I want to share something with you ... since my graduation from Columbia and Harvard I have been very fortunate to work with some top notch companies in my legal career of 20+ years ... I have represented and am currently representing some prominent clients from the entertainment industry worldwide ... being involved with the industry I have learned that fan pages are not personal as majority of the times fan pages are either created by the fans or by companies hired by the artists to create fan pages ... when it comes to interaction, people or companies who are taking care of those fan pages interact with the fans on behalf of the artists ... very rarely artists interact with the fans personally on their fan pages ... if you notice Samta Ji's message that I have posted is from her personal FB page ... as a friend of hers, I know that she is more personal when it comes to interacting and due to this reason she is connected with her family, friends and fans on her personal FB page, all in one location, just so she can interact with them personally ... since you admire Samta ji's talent and if you want to interact with her personally I suggest you try to be her friend on her personal FB page, if you aren't already. 😉
Lastly, to answer your question - sticky is a post which remains at the top of the forum page for sometime and thread is a post which keeps moving to different pages with the flow of new posts with new topics on the forum. 😃
