The two poems are my modifcations of "How do I love thee" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. I wrote them as a special request from Bholabear.......enjoy 😊

From Dev to Radhika

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee as high as the mountains can rise
My soul can soar, when feeling thee by my side.
Till the end of my being and my last breath
My love is a free bird with boundless faith.
Like the rays of early morning sun shine
My heart comes alive when thee smile.
As chaste as a prayer my love beats for thee,
To adore you forever even if you are not true.
My love for thee will never lose trust
It is endless and vast like the deep sky cast.

Joys, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee even after death.

From Radhika to Dev

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I adore thee like a thirsty bird
Whose soul is pinning for love that she can find.
My spirit was caged like a shackled deer
Thy love showed that I have nothing to fear.
I love thee like early morning dew
Thy are more precious to me than all I knew.
I love thee with all that I have,
Knowing that thy love will never let me enslave.
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's dread
I hope thy love for me will never be dead.
My life without thee is like soul without light

Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee even after death.

Perfect. Radhika's tearful pleas for what she seeks and the pecking order in which she seeks!

Wow Misti ... what beautiful adaptations

👏 👏 I think someone had mentioned in another thread ... you should put all your poems in one thread so people can come in and read them

Mishti,

That was a very good adaptation.👍🏼

But you know in both the versions of the peoms, I felt Radhika is at advantage. You know like the love is not at equal level (From just the 2 lines of her version). But later, it was ok ... But, it is not the Rad that is right now. She hasn't reached yet where you have put her in her version of the peom. She def needs to get there....

Lovely peoms .. both ...👏

Misti, love this poem and a great fit for Dev and Radhika. I wish Dev would quote some Hindi poetry to Radhika rather than moon comparisons. It would be so much more romantic. Maybe he can do it in Malaysia.
