Chapter 11

Radhika runs to the other side of the hallway and catches up with the others and when Amma sees her she says…."kaha mar gayi thi mui ladki…..kaha tha na humne ke saath rahiyo….kya apna ghar samajh kar ghoom rahi hai….chal ab hamare paas hi khadi rahiyo."

Radhika nods her head n stands beside her…..Daadi then says…."chaliye Punditji….Puja ka samay ho raha hai….hum ab neeche chalte hai."

It was the puja time n everyone gathered in the hall for that….n Radhika was helping out her father in the arrangement as well…..and someone asks her something and when she looks up in that direction she gets distracted when she sees Dev coming down the stairs…..He looked so handsome in the white kurta that she just kept staring….n then she suddenly realizes what she is doing so she looks away.

Dev was coming down looking at Radhika who he felt for a second….was also looking at him….but when he sees her turn away he gets a little mad and his expression gets serious……And then he sees Vsihaka coming towards him n he already feels a little irritated.

Vishaka walks towards him n says…"oh ho Dev ji….aap toh bahut hi handsome lag rahe hai….waise hum bhi kum kamaal nahi lag rahe."

At that Dev smiles n says…."ji haan bilkul Vishaka ji….iss shaam mein aapse zyaada pretty koi nahi lag raha."…..and then he looks at Radhika who was near the fire wearing light crme colored salwar kameez looking like a radiant beauty.

He then distracted his thoughts from her to Vishaka n smiled…..and Vishaka was more flattered by his smile.

Daadi and Vaishali were exchanging happy looks….looking at Dev and Vishaka smiling at each other.

Punditji asks Radhika to go and ask Daadi about some other ingredient for puja….so Radhika gets up to look for daadi and then Amma stops her by holding her wrist tight n says….."kahe itna machalti phir rahi hai yaha….yeh kauno tera sasural hai kya…..khabardaar koi aisi waisi harkate kari toh."

Radhika gets teary eyed as Amma was tightening her hold on her wrist so much that her nails were literally digging into her skin…..and then Amma says….."tu jaane hai na Vishaka Dev babu ko kitna pasand kare hai…..toh usko hi sabse baatein karne de…..aur khabardaar jo tune apni koi chaal chali….aur nakhre dikhaye toh...…ab jaa jaakar Vishaka ko bhej samaan ke liye puchwane ko."

Radhika nods and goes and tells Vishaka what her father had asked for…and Vishaka made a face as she didn't wanted to go out of sight from Dev but when she looked around she didn't find him anywhere so she left to look for Daadi.

Radhika cudnt hold her tears as her wrist was hurting so bad and so she slowly went behind a pillar and hid behind its curtain….and cried a little.

Dev gets a call on his phone so he excused himself from the people he was talking to and went to a corner to take the call….and busy talking he comes across Radhika and was about to bump into her but stopped just an inch away.

Dev stares at Radhika who looks at him with tears in her eyes…..Dev remembered their meeting few minutes ago n then without asking the reason for her tears….he just stares at her.

Radhika again feels embarrassed coming across Dev and almost in the same situation they met few minutes ago….she slowly looks at him n feels his stare changing from furious to concerning…..and then it was as though he cudnt hold himself…Dev wipes off the tears from her face n says….."aap smile karti hui zyaada achchi lagti hai….kyunki jab aap smile karti hai toh aapki aankhein bhi hass padti hai….aur aapki aankhen itni sundar hai ke unme aansoon achche nahi lagte."

Radhika looks at him with so much emotion that she didn't realize that they were few inches away lost looking into each others eyes…..and when she finds a smile tucked at the corner of his lips…..she suddenly comes out of her thoughts n remembers Amma's words that Vishaka likes Dev and she shudnt do anything to cause problems…..Radhika looks down n then takes back few steps n then slowly walks towards her father.

Dev keeps looking after her and then he also comes out after a while and the puja starts….throughout the puja Dev was glancing at Radhika who looked a little lost….He remembered her scent which smelled heavenly n noticed her creme clothes which made her complexion glow even more…..And then suddenly thought of how she got stiffened beneath his touch when he held her into his arms to protect her from falling down….He smiled to himself at the thought of it, but kept a serious face in front of everyone.

Radhika as though sensed his eyes on her….looks at his direction and finds him actually looking at her…..she cudn't control her heart which was racing uncontrollably fast….she still cudnt forget that few minutes ago…she was just inches away from Dev smelling his masculine scent which made her feel more attracted to him…..and when he wiped her tears….the feel of the touch of his finger on her skin….made her heart skip a beat.….she was so lost looking at him…..that she didn't realize that she was staring back at him now.

It was with his one glance that she was so disturbed that she was reliving the moments that conspired between them just a few minutes ago….. a chill ran through her spine when she remembered the hold of his hands on her arms….she shrugged the thought of it but her hands still felt his heartbeat beneath the fabric of his clothes….Radhika felt like if he didn't take his eyes off her then she wud not be able to concentrate on anything…..but she was mostly afraid that if anyone sees them then she'll have to go through the same accusations again from Amma…….And as though Dev read her thoughts, he breaks the eye contact n looks away.

wow fantastic narration. I was surprised with so quick updates today and loved it totally.Please update quickly.Cannot wait for long.

Chapter 12

Amma was keeping an eye on Radhika throughout the night…..and was a little relieved when she notices that Radhika has been by her side throughout.

It was after all the puja, aarti and the rest of the things done…that Daadi and Vaishali comes near Punditji and then Daadi says…."Punditji….hum aapse bahut zaroori baat karma chahte the…"….and then Punditji follows them into the other room where Purohitji was already seated.

Punditji asks them…."kahiye na kya baat hai."

Purohitji then speaks up n says…"dekiye Punditji…..hamari dharma patni aur maa chahti hai ke aapki beti hamare ghar ki 'choti bahu' bane……agar……aapko yeh rishta manzoor ho toh."

Punditji was excited and then Vaishali says…."ji haan Punditji…hamein aapki beti Vishaka bahut pasand hai."

Punditji says…."aapne itna keh kar hamein apni haisiyat se bhi zyaada izzat dedi hai Purohitain."……and then he calls Devki and Amma whereas Vishaka and Radhika sits in the hall….and Punditji shares this news with both and they both get equally excited and hugs each other….and then Punditji says…."Purohitji….hamein yeh rishta manzoor hai….aap jab kahe aur jaisa kahenge….hum iss rishte ke liye tayyar rahenge."

Daadi then says….."theek hai Punditji…….toh phir hum agle hafte hi sagaai ya phir shaadi ka mahurat nikaal lenge."

Here in the hall….Vishaka was looking around whereas Radhika just sits in one place…..Dev was observing both of them from the distance while talking to his bro….and then as he was about to approach Radhika…he sees Vishaka sitting beside her…..so he stops and to avoid even getting noticed by her….he leaves the room.

Punditji, Daadi, Vaishali, Purohitji, Amma n Devki comes out and Punditji says….."theek hai Purohitji….main agle hafte ka achcha mahurat dekh kar aapko bata dunga….toh ab hamein aagya di jiye….hum chalte hain."

Punditji then calls Vishaka n says….."arre Vishaka bitiya….maaji aur sabse aashirwaad le lo beta."

Vishaka and Radhika look at each other in confusion n then Daadi comes n stands by Vishaka and announces to everyone that….."humne Vishaka ko pasand kiya hai Dev ke liye…..iss ghar ki choti bahu banne ke liye."

Mrinalini was shocked whereas everyone else were happy…..Even Radhika was happy….so she goes n hugs her father who with a nod affirms the announcement.

Vsihaka feels top of this world and takes aashirwaad from everyone and hugs Daadi as well…..then Vaishali notices that Dev wasn't around n then she asks Birju to go n get him.

Dev comes in after a while with Birju n sees everyone smiling…..n then Daadi says…."Dev….humne hamari choti bahu doondh li hai….aur hum jaante hai ke voh bhi tumhe bahut pasand hogi."

Dev was a little embarrassed n then he looks at Radhika who was standing by her father smiling….n then he deliberately asks…."kya keh rahi hai Daadi aap??"

Vaishali says…."haan beta…humne Punditji ki beti ko pasand kiya hai tumhare liye."

Dev again looks at Radhika who was now smiling wide looking down which made him think that she was blushing…..so he also smiles n runs a hand in his hair with a light embarrassment n then says…."ab aap logon ne faisla kar liya hai toh amin kya kahoo."

Vishaka blushes as everyone laughs….Vsihaka cannot believe that Dev liked her too….whereas Dev was really happy that Radhika too had agreed.

But Mrinalini was the only one not happy with this acquaintance…..she turned n went into her room thinking as to what were everyone thinking getting Dev married into a middle class house hold…..her aim first of all was to not get Dev married at all so that she can forever remain the admired and adored one…..but now all the spotlight will go to the choti bahu of the family as Dev is the dearest one.

Shastri family comes home and everyone were happy and Punditji especially felt too proud that such a big family came n asked her daughters and for their son…..he went and hugged Vishaka and said….."ab toh mujhe bahut zaroori kaam karma hai….mujhe inki sagaai achcha sa mahurat dekh kar nikaal na hai."

And then he suddenly remembered something n said…."itni khushi mein mera asal kaam hi bhool gaya….main toh unse Dev babu ki kundli poochna hi bhool gaya."

Amma then says…."ab kundli kahe dekhna hai…..apni bitiya ko itna achcha har parivaar mil gawa yeh bhi koi kam baat hai kya."

Pundit stops her n says…."yeh kaisi baatein kar rahi ho maa….ek pundit ki maa ho ker keh rahi ho ke hum apne dharm ke saare rivaaj na nibhaaye…..kundli milana toh bahut zaroori hai….yeh hamari beti ki zindagi ka sawaal hai."

Pundit then looks at Radhika n says…."Radhika beta….kal zara tum hi jaa kar le aana."

Radhika nods but looks at Amma with fearful eyes.

It was next morning when Dev was getting ready to go out to factory plot with his dad….he comes in Daadiz room to check on her n then she teases him saying….."ab mujhe tujhse jitna time milega mujhe bahut jatan se bita lena hoga….varna ek baar jab choti bahu aa jaayegi toh tu kaun sa mujhe poochne aane wala hai."

Dev shakes his head when he realizes that she had already started teasing him n says…"jab tumhari choti bahu aa jayegi na Daadi….toh main uske saath aapko poochne aaonga."

Daadi says…."ja ja….voh kyu aisa karegi….uski koi marzi nahi kya."

Dev then with an attitude says…."voh nahi aana chahegi toh main usse pakad kar laonga….kyunki meri Daadi mere liye hamesha sabse pehle hi aayegi….usse bhi pehle."

Daadi then says…."haan haan samajh gayi…..teri pasand ki ladki ko pasand kiya hai na maine….toh aur makhan kyu lagaye jaa raha hai…..tera dil kya chahta hai main jaanti hoon…..kyu ki tu toh mera sabse laadla hai na."

Dev then hugs her n leaves.

Dev opened the main door to go out when he sees Radhika at the door step…they both look at each other n Dev teasingly says…."aap…..aap yaha…...itni jaldi hai ghar aane ki ??"

Radhika looks at him in confusion n looks down n says…."ji……ji main voh…..mujhe bauji ne bheja hai."

Dev smiles n thinks she is blushing n then says…."jaanta hoon…..main toh sirf mazaak kar raha tha…..aap sharmaati hai toh aapke chehre per ek alag si nikhaar aa jaati hai…..shayad isliye mujhse raha nahi gaya."

Radhika was still confused thinking as to y he is trying to flirt with her n then she says…."aap kahi jaa rahe the shayad ??"

Dev bends his head a little closer to hers so that their eyes were at same level n then looking at her he says…."haan jaa toh raha tha….per……..jaana itna bhi zaroori nahi hai."

Radhika takes a step back and was scared that anyone might see them like that n looking down she says…."main Daadi ji se baat kar sakti hoon ??"……n then she looks into his eyes n says…."Please!!"

Dev was now confused by her behavior….as he was under the impression that their rishta was arranged only after her consent….so y is she trying to avoid him…..then he thinks maybe she is too shy of a person n that's y hesitates to talk to him before marriage….so he says…"ji zaroor…..ab aapke aur hamare parivaar ke beech ek rishta hone wala hai toh yeh bhi aap hi ka ghar hua….isme poochne ki kya baat hai."

And he steps aside n Radhika walks in n turns to look at him…..Dev smiles when he sees her turn to him n then still smiling he leaves.

Radhika goes into Daadiz room n asks her about the kundli n then Daadi says that she'll send it with Birju as Vaishali has it and she isn't home right now….So Radhika takes her leave n goes away from there.
