The love of Radhika to Dev, it was shown by u nicely.

I guess you did this VM perfectly, there's no need for any other suggestion

Hi Hari, thanks for liking it. Yes, all the scenes had Radhika showing her feelings. Despite how Abhay track turned out to be towards the end, at least they had a lot of episodes where they showed emotions of Radhika.

Good to see you back on the forum after a while. Hope your studies are going well. I see you have started a new FF.

Friends, the next VM is based on the song "Jee le zara" from the movie "Taalash". I found the lyrics and tune of this interesting. The tune is quite melancholy. The lyrics are also sad, but there is an underlying theme of hope. So this track where Radhika and Dev decide to live their separately and yet are unable to stay away from each other came to mind. These episodes were shown in June 2009.

I hadn't liked these episodes too much because I had found Radhika's character to be unlikeable here as she had seemed too selfish for whatever reasons. But when I saw these episodes again, her character actually was portrayed as quite complex. The original writers were still there and they had kept complexities of various characters. Devki was quite a negative character here and Radhika was not a weak character. Devki reminded me of how Padma used to be in the first six months of CB2 - the one who controlled others with an act of helplessness and portraying that she was good at heart.

The one interesting episode was when she sends Keshav to Dev's house under false pretext. She tries to act innocent when Radhika finds out her purpose from Dadima and calls on her it. Radhika was shown to be quite intelligent who doesn't buy the act and is firm with her. Devki promises to behave after Radhika is firm with her, but then few minutes later is a telling a false story to Keshav. I have no idea why they white-washed Devki later on to make her this helpless mother who just had Radhika's interests at heart. But then they did the same to Padma. Dadi's character was also very strong and good. She did care for Radhika a lot but abandoned her because Dev's interests came first for her. That's why it never made sense that they showed her so weak in the second year.

In any case, the original writers kept characterization quite consistent in the first few months of CB1 and that's why it was a good show.

Coming back to the VM, I have titled it "Hope"; the theme of the VM is from a poem by Emily Dickinson. So I ended my VM with a promise of hope.

Hope is the thing with feathers (By Emily Dickinson)

"Hope" is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I've heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

Following is the VM "Hope."

Studies were good , but caught the flu during my exam period and that was not fun! but still managed to do really well😳

Yes, getting the flu is no fun. I too caught a flu after a long time. I had forgotten how long it takes to recover from the aftereffects. But it is great that you did well in your exams despite your sickness.

Just watched your Vm on Saiyaan and tu Meri jaan hai !! I really enjoyed all the scene you put together , especial for Saiyaan , despite the burning track there was lots of sweet moments between RAdev which I I found really cute . The scene when Dev is adoring Radhika with the beaded and flower jewellery is scene that I will always remember and also when she wake up in the morning sleeping beside Dev was soo cute!!😳 I remember during this time rubina was unwell and was missing for previous episodes but still loved her acting and she looked beautiful in those scenes ..
Yamuna, thanks. They did not have to show the burning track. Even though the ratings went up a lot during the track, they eventually lost a big part of their audience. But still episodes afterwards had a lot of emotional content that showed this evolution of relationship between Dev and Radhika. Most of characters were also kept consistent during that part. I too had found their SR episode to be quite good. I remember Rubina was unwell and she does look weak in some episodes.

Tu Meri jaan hai was also nicely done! abhay track was not the best but you chose great scene to go with the song . RAdhika was always so sweet to him but he would really get on my nerves adn wished RAdhika would just leave him alone and not talk to him at all! She should have started acting cold and take her distance ..Maybe then he would realize his true feelings and start getting his memory back ..Anyway , I also feel the Cv's should have carrie dthe Abhay track differently but enjoyed the Vm!😃 Thank you!

Thanks for liking "tu meri jaan hai". I wasn't too sure how it had turned up. I hadn't liked the leap, but then had found Abhay's character to be interesting in the first month. But later on his character just got on one's nerves with those repetitive lines of "parivaar, biwi, baccha". Also they made him one-dimensional and dumb. They had interesting characters of Katyani and Chachunder (Katyani's son - can't remember his name as just remember the name given by Misti) who had good chemistry with Dev and Radhika. But they never used them properly. Still there were good individual scenes. I too wanted Radhika to be shown withdrawing from Abhay, but they never showed that. It was like a lot of their later tracks such as Shantanu's track. It would start with interesting characters. The creatives would use some nonsensical run of the mill story and then the track would end in a very unsatisfying way.

Well, creatives of CB taught me to never take a Hindi soap seriously ever again. That's what I do these days. It makes it very easy to pick up or drop a show in the middle. Anyway, I am enjoying making VMs on CB now if an appropriate song comes to mind.

angie thanks and yes...
I too felt a lot that they should have shown a lot of Radhika's feeligns during abhay's track.
and also u potrayed it well, so loved urs.
and haan regarding ff, yes I started a new one...
its because of request from my friends, who came to know veyr recently that I too write some stories.
they insisted me to start a magical story, and so I started this. They keep insisting me, saying to change the lead names, but always I write for Radev, so I promised them, that I will write this in our telugu regional background, wiht out using purohiths and all. because they feel me a pure andhra girl writing a lot on northindian culture.
so I changed many other characters, but as usual its a Radev story .

My next VM is based on a gazal by Jagjit Singh. It is "Koi Fariyaad" from the movie "Tum Bin". It is a long gazal (about 9 minutes). I thought of Dev of first few months of CB when I decided to make this VM as it suited him. Also I ended up watching few scenes of first 80 or so episodes I had not really watched before. There was a difference in quality of CB1 as it was shown in first few months. There were details given to characters that were not shown later on. Also I wondered why was the need to show that burning track. Amma was shown pretty much an evil woman even in the first few months as she was shown to be this ritualistic woman who had no remorse in committing any wrongs to achieve her goals.

I have titled this song as "An Entreaty", a literal translation of "Koi Fariyaad". There is one poem by Edith Nesbit that I liked. But it applies to Radhika rather than to Dev whereas the VM is mostly from Dev's perspective.

Entreaty (By Edith Nesbit)

O LOVE, let us part now!
Ours is the tremulous, low-spoken vow,
Ours is the spell of meeting hands and eyes.
The first, involuntary, sacred kiss
Still on our lips in benediction lies.
O Love, be wise!
Love at its best is worth no more than this--
Let us part now!

O Love, let us part now!
Ere yet the roses wither on my brow,
Ere yet the lilies wither in your breast,
Ere the implacable hour shall flower to bear
The seeds of deathless anguish and unrest.
To part is best.
Between us still the drawn sword flameth fair--
Let us part now!

Following is the VM "An Entreaty".

Angie! truly 2 beautiful Vms! Just came back from donating blood and a long day from school but still had to watch your Vms before dozing off 😉..Jee le zara was a lovely selections for your scenes! There was so many emotions FROM radev which I really enjoy ..The episodes of june 2009 were all good for me ,I never really looked in so much depth of the character ..I would somehow find it very heart touching radev's separation ..I don't know why but the flashbacks and all the emotions portrayed was amazing just made their chemistry more rocking(for me ).I think Keshav's track was quite interesting , mostly because we got to see Dev's possessive side and his dagger eyes 😆 No but seriously I somehow felt the chemistry between them especially when they were both walking across each other and pretend not to be aware .It just adds something special to their chemistry .. Liked it when they wouldn't talk much to each other but when they did it just bought a smile on my face..I really liked both Radev in these episodes , they both balanced it out for me..There wasn't much flaws n the episodes as they were inCB2

And completely loved Koi Fariyaad !! one of the titles of my FF was Koi fariyaad inspired by the song. Many flash backs were shown and lots of scenes that were emotional which made me hooked. The song is so gentle and has deep meanings to it , goes perfectly with radev's pain and sadness...The scene that was very heart touching was when the payal breaks in pieces and Dev tells RAdhika to at least pick the pieces up but she refuses saying they will keep on breaking ..lovely comparison with the payal and their hearts..No matter how hard you try to join them together they will keep shattering .. Writers did a nice job on that scenes ..Really bought some heart felt memories ..Thank you Angie for such heart felt VMS 😊

This VM is based on the song "Saiyaara" from the movie "Ek tha Tiger". I liked the lyrics of this song as the first two lines translate into "I am a planet and you are a planet and we will meet again in the world of stars" (assuming this is the right translation of the word Saiyaara). Also some of the lines perfectly suit Radhika where it talks about Dev being an answer to her prayers or being the one who taught her to believe in herself. Also the song has a dreamy as well as sad part to it. So I felt that it suited Dev and Radhika of CB1.

This VM is titled "Star-crossed"; the phrase first came from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It represents two people who have strong connection to each other, yet there are outside forces that try to keep them apart.

Hari, they made Radhika and Dev one-dimensional in this track and brought down other characters. Still it was better than what was done to their characters during Barkha track in CB2 where both literally disappeared for months.
