CC banked too much on Sanaya's popularity ... no big deal, good actors do manage to keep audiences engaged when scripts go haywire ... but it needed content and strong script and good characterization to showcase her acting skills, at least at the start, to get the audience hooked. Once an audience is engaged, then they stay engaged even if the shows spiral downwards, which inevitably happens. Here the script was weak and loose from the start and never managed to engage the audience. On top of which, after the superb chemistry in her last show, it needed a really good actor to match it or at least come somewhere close ... instead we got a wooden board. The show never recovered from the poor start.

Anyway, it gave Sanaya breathing space while keeping her employed and in the spotlight ... hopefully she will take a break and then be back in something bigger and better.

Diya , I also beleive that when an actor works ...and the work is out their for the public to see , it will be appreciated / criticised and will be either a hit / fail ...BUT ..it is imp for the work to be there . As a fan I rather be in that position than just endlessly wait to see some work and have my favourite in news purely on the basis of PR articles ...3-4 months chalta hai , uske aage its too much and the whole exercise starts looking too superficial.

I sincerely hope sanaya is bck on my tv 5-6 months from now and if we are lucky sooner ...post that it will get frustrating.

But for future plans, guess the wait will be longer ...

Trivia ... MJHT ended in Nov 2010, IPK started June 2011 ... seven months gap.

IPK ended Nov 2012, CC started March 2013 ... four months gap.

CC ending Sept 2013 ...

Hopefully, the next gap won't be longer than six-seven months ... less if she does NB6 ... but more if she is getting good offers, and decides to take up one of them ... she might skip NB6 in that case.

We really need a thread to discuss Sanaya's new shows ... 😆

That we need Diya...should we request the Mod through PM?

Though what I meant by speculation was the blame game which media likes to indulge in...yellow journalism...

Good article on the whole, but i disagree with part-
So we wonder was Farhan really to blame for the low numbers? Guess the makers forgot that besides the actors the most pivotal part of any show is the script too. It's not enough to just have good actors, right?

He had already sabotaged the show enough before he was replaced.. A faster replacement may have changed fortunes.. But yes he alone is not to blame. It was a good concept with poor implementation.

And what's with the pace? Right from episode 1 it was overly rushed whether it was the saas bahu drama or romance, everything seemed rushed and half baked..

I second everything you said...I hope she is back in reasonable amount of time but with a project which is well thought out and in the hands of a talented team who know what they are doing.

My assumption is that from the time TRPs started spiraling downward, panic set in and they tried all kinds of patchwork to stem the loss but ended up with a hodgepodge.

Finally an article that mentions the weak script. Agree with everything said and spoken here.

@ Bold...Absolutely agree to that!😉

From the begining the show seemed half baked.. Really who in their right senses casts the male lead in 3-4 days (and ends up with FK) and takes weeks to cast the dogs who are eventually relegated to oblivion..

In order to start the proper saas bahu track, the courtship was rushed through.. Frankly till a weeks into Anuj's entry I was wondering what did Chhanchhan see in Manav to decide to face the ire of UB for his sake- whether that was because of the deficiencies in the script or the portrayal by Ex-ML, debatable..

One more thing i think is that there are 2 kinds of audience, the saas bahu drama lovers (which is also the trp treasure) and the total romance lovers.. Chhanchhan tried to balance the two.. But in the initial couple of months the first lot left the show as saas bahu drama had not started and FK sent the second lot running.. And in an era with so many channels n so many shows first impression definitely makes a difference..

While Anuj Sanaya chemistry did work, it was probably too late and the contribution of haters also cant be ruled out..

Your analysis is spot on...the only conclusion we can draw is that it was a badly managed project but who is to be blamed when and how much is debatable. With the show shutting down everyone related to it can move to greener pastures.

I think sony is to,be blamed even more than the prodn house as they were desperate for some daily show sucess and wanted the show on board one week before IPL ! They also have not learnt from their mistakes , the show which is replacing CC has had the main cast including the leading lady finalised 2 weeks before the show is being launched ...

Anyway this is all wisdom in hindsight , what had to happen has happened ...not lets just look ahead.
