mukut is so disgusting!! he is terrible.. I never felt so irritated by anybody's arguments as I felt today when mukut was justifying his extra marital to manav..

Loved manthan and Sanjhana's part. manthan , in fact is the most entertaining character in the show. And the actor is also great!

pre-cap is breat-taking.

But I have a feeling that everything is being resolved too quickly! Why the CVs are in hurry?

copy-pasting my take here, since the discussions are already on!

A very interesting episode tackling a problem that is increasingly prevalent in our society today, a problem peculiar to the Indian way of thinking, where for a girl, after marriage responsibilities to the family are sometimes more important than towards her husband. And how changing times means that expectations are changing, and troubles arise when one partner has not kept pace.

The episode - Manav and Chhanchhan discuss how good Kaumudi bhabhi is ... Kaumudi didn't hear anything ... this time.

Manthan and Sanjana ... Manthan isn't too happy in his marriage either ... and Sanjana is clueless. 😛 Kaumudi gets worried when Mukut doesn't pick up the phone and goes to ask Manthan if he can help. Manthan sends her to Manav.

And this time Kaumudi hears the damaging stuff ... as Manav Chhanchhan discuss Mukut bhai's girlfriend and how it will affect Kaumudi. And Chhanchhan makes a remark as to how she can understand Kaumudi's fears because she also has faced the fear of losing the person she loves, and wonders how Kaumudi will react when she learns the truth about Mukut bhai's girlfriend.

Guys, keep your door SHUT when you discuss such confidential stuff ... is that so hard to remember?! 😡

Kaumudi flees to her room, a worried Chhanchhan runs after her, and after a small altercation with Ranjana, Kaumudi finally opens the door to Chhanchhan ... loved the way Kaumudi kept her dignity intact in front of Ranjana, and only broke down once she and Chhanchhan were alone inside her room ... with the door shut this time, thankfully! 😛

Two parallel conversations ... Manav-Mukut and Chhanchhan-Kaumudi ... on one hand Kaumudi dreads the very thought of Mukut walking out on her and their kids, while Chhanchhan reassures Kaumudi about the sanctity of the marital bond and the strength of family ties, and tries to give her the courage to fight for her marriage. And tells her that whatever Mukut is doing is wrong, he can't walk out on a marriage and kids just like that.

And on the other hand, Mukut lists out to a shocked Manav, all the reasons he is friendly with Mayuri at Kaumudi's expense. And he did make sense, which was why Manav actually listened quietly ... it wasn't just an affair, it was the feeling of neglect by his wife at the expense of her domestic chores and duties to the children, and a sharing of common interests with Mayuri. He has no intention of walking out on his responsibilities, but he has equally no intention of giving up a friendship which gives him the companionship he lacks in his marriage.

Hmm ... tough one here ... wonder what Manav will tell Chhanchhan about this, as he did seem to understand Mukut's pov, shocked though he was.

A very interesting juxtaposition of views ... Chhanchhan, the girl with the so-called 'modern' upbringing, believes completely in the sanctity of marriage and the marital bond, and advises Kaumudi that she must fight for her marriage. While Mukut, from the so-called 'traditional' upbringing, stuffed to the gills with 'sanskaar' from childhood, is scathing about the bond and unapologetic about his relationship outside it. Not only that, he is fully prepared to continue it while remaining married, and doesn't see anything wrong in what he is doing, he has fully justified it to himself.

Wonder what he would feel if Kaumudi felt the same and indulged in a fling of her own on the same grounds. 😕 Would that be equally justified in his eyes?

Chhanchhan promises Kaumudi that they will try to sort the problem out, without the family's knowledge, as Kaumudi dreads the thought of Baa coming to know anything.

In the meantime, Manthan is hauled up by furious Babuji about missing Rs 10 lakhs, and he promptly traces it to Mukut bhai's personal account. Umaben tries to shield the missing Mukut while Manek returns with Manav's tiffin ... apparently Manav has spent the whole day chasing Mukut.

Umaben shelters Mukut again from Babuji's wrath and sends him to change, and warns him they have something important to discuss with him.

Mukut asks Kaumudi what his parents want to talk about, and tries to evade Mayuri's phone call. Kaumudi tells him she knows everything about Mayuri and he needn't lie to her.

Precap ... Babuji and Umaben want to talk presumably about the missing money, Mukut lets out the news about his girlfriend. And the issue is set to explode.

Diya, you raised some good points. One, about the juxtaposition of ideas...Chhanchhan talking of sanctity of marriage and Mukut about companionship in marriage.

Second, would Mukut or Borisagar family tolerate if Kaumudi had a fling on the side?

Third, the more practical issue of gender roles in a marriage...men taking on more household chores so that women can also fulfill their individual desires/ ambitions and have more meaningful relationships and careers. This is called the "stalled revolution" in Sociology, though the term is more in reference to women taking on professional roles whereas men are yet to share the household chores equally. This can be applied here too where Kaumudi has taken on more duties to take care of her husband's joint family but her own individual needs are ignored or come last. The majority of the Borisagar family realises her worth and contribution but they have not paid attention to her personal happiness.

Good episode once again! Manav and Chhanchhan played their parts well, whilst Chhanchhan reassured, Manav listened, easy to have been judgemental and let tempers fly but it was well handled by Manav and Chhanchhan. Whilst not agreeing with what Mukutbhai's doing, the CVs realistically show both his and Kaumudibhabi's POVs, both were justified to an extent. All four Actors did justice to their parts! Interesting to see how matter comes out fully in the open and is dealt with by all! Only Serial I know is dealing with such issues in today's setting, although whether in jointfamily or not, extra marital relationships exist but are either hushed up, ignored or swept under the carpet!
So well done CVs for dealing with this types of issues!

Enjoyed seeing more of the children in today's episode. Manthan and Sanjana, I too really like. Both Actors are great in depicting comedy. Looking forward to tomorrow's episode. Well done all!

May be its me but I also feel as though CV's are going at a fast pace frim introducing various issues and resolving them. Good in a way but is Chhanchhan is safe then what's the rush?

I was happy with Manav, and how I see the character, for the first time in a loong while. That sort of natural give and take was there which set the tone for the rest of the episode. Then the writers took that and did good work with expanding the issue and the topic to discuss. Crossing my fingers this whole week holds up on story end and they pace it right.

It will really show how all the members of the family want to react to hearing something like that.

Loved the episode, even with the break neck speed they managed to convey a depth that other shows would have taken weeks to cover with long melodramatic dialogues. The cvs like playing with us...Kaumudi didn't hear the conversation but then Chanman left their door open again!!!
SanMan are cute and like I said on Dia's post ChanMan need to learn from them, these two close the door even to drink tea. Looks like Mukut wasn't getting enough romance from his wife but Manthan is getting more than he can handle😆.
I love all the little side scenes today, the SanMan, the Ranjana-CC-Kaumudi sceneand the homework scene.
The CC-Kaumudi scene and the Manav-Mukut scene were executed concisely without any extra faff but with just the right amount of emotion to touch the audience and get the characters feelings across. The speed is exhilerating, I've never seen a show reveal so much so quickly and I'm at a loss to understand the speed but at the same time I'm happy because it keeps the show interesting to watch.
The conversation between CC and Kaumudi is what I would have expected with Kaumudi being devastated but even in this state thinking about the family esp UB and with CC trying to cheer her up and trying to give her confidence that everything would be fine.
The Mukut Manav scene was really interesting, I loved the low key setting in a restaurant and a simple conversation with no extraneous emotions clouding the issue. Mukut is defiant and he sees everything in black and white . As far as he's concerned he's doing his duty towards his wife and daughters and the family and he has a right to pursue his own happiness. Wonder hoe he would feel should Kaumudi also feel she had the right to find a similar partner while still married?
The speed I keeping the show interesting, particularly as it's only on 4 nights a week, but I hope it doesn't burn the writers out. I love the simplicity with which everything is shown.

Another thing that struck me as I read through all the discussions here...

This whole Mukut Kaumudi track is to show UB what?

1) That she cannot fix marriages?
2) She cannot rule daughters-in-law with an iron hand?
3) That she cannot bring in uneducated DILs?

Mukut's affair seems to be recent and his issues with Kaumudi too recent ... after the kids were born ... so where does this leave UB's realization and on which issue will that happen?

The only way there can be a realization on UB's part is if she supports Mukut when the truth is out ... or she knows the truth and is hiding it...even then the countermoves from CC and co will be what assures the realisation.

Without goofing up , if the track has to be laid , then it can be depicted as , UB as a mother can show her children what is right and what is wrong but she cant dictate them and rub her wishes on them. she can say what type of girl is suitable for her son ,family but she cant decide their future , let them stand for themselves and decide their own choice of girl whether marriage is love or arranged .

At present it will interesting to watch UB after knowing the truth , whether she will support her son and blame kaumudi for not being good wife to his son or she will support her DIL . if she chooses first one then i think here CC will make UB realize her mistake and then both will support Kaumudi and make her independent and also teach mukut a lesson. they have to slow the pace of the show to present turmoils of all characters and it will be realistic and good if track is played out well
