I was wondering what type of bakwas these bollywood fans would use to justify the bakwas campaign slogan. Here is there thinking about what makes this case patriarchal. Here it is.
We love to hate women: ‘loose’, ‘greedy’, ‘witchy’, ‘b*tchy’, ‘gold-digging’, ‘home-wrecking’, ‘promiscuous’, ‘dominating’, ‘predatory’, ‘long taloned’ — women. Speech of this kind, which uses stereotypes and offensive language towards women, degrades them; pummels their self-esteem, and pares them down to their sex.
There are also words to describe women who are revered by many. Take AOC in America for example. Self-made, brave, independent, inspiring, well-educated, role-model, and fighter for what is right. Let's look at all the names the Bollywood PR machinery called Sushant and feminist like myself were gullible to fall for it. Skirt-chaser, player, flirt, molester, rapist, hard to work with, womanizer, philanderer, heart-breaking- man. This wasn't a witch hunt. But it was never called out by Bollywood who knew it was wrong as they knew the man. And they knew the concepts of blinds better than us. This speech is not used to stereotype men. Who is more likely to be accused of sexual assault? Men or women? It doesn't degrade them, pummel there self-esteem, and pare them down?
The point is when it is true for people like Roger Ailes, Harvey Weinstein, it is heroic to call them out for it. When it is wrong it is wrong? Agree Rhea has not been convicted of anything she did to harm Sushant yet. But there are whataap chats of her discussing the need to drug him. These same people crying patriarchy now like Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Ahuja, Diya Mirza among others, said the Tanushree Dutta deserved to be heard when she made #metoo allegations against Nana Patekhar (who was also accused not convicted). Why doesn't a grieving family deserve to be heard? Why are the same people in Bollywood trying to suppress their voices? Because this time the accused has a different anatomy. I didn't know that was how feminism work. Bollywood has educated me .
