D's family will NEVER accept any actress as their DIL (S or otherwise). They are too set in their ways.

They may give permission for him to marry, without any heart or involvement... (like, veda veruppa)

Or

D will take a decision and stick to his guns, not caring what anybody else thinks or feels (he is after all going to be 40 soon!)

Of course all this is assuming D and S are serious enough to marry each other 🤢
