SHOWBIZShashank Vyas is on cloud nine after seeing the response of the audience to his show Roop Mard Ka Naya Swaroop'. The actor is back on TV after a gap of a year and it seems like his fans are thrilled to have him back. "I have never been into the TRP game. But for the first time, I was excited and keen to know the TRP of my show. Since I am playing the title role, this is responsibility, he says.
He adds, "I am happy that the TRP of my show has shot up. The feedback is very positive. It feels nice and I am positive that the audience will continue to like the show. Taking a gap of a year and waiting for the right show to come along seems worth it. I am giving my best to the show.
In fact, the actor started getting praised for his work since the promo got out! "Ever since the promo has been out, my friends and relatives have all been praising my work and look. Many industry friends told me that for the first time I was looking like a hero!
The actor says that he can really relate to his character. "Roop is me, we are similar in a number of ways. The biggest similarity is that both of us respect women, he says.
Independence Day not just evokes a sense of patriotism and pride in us but also makes us appreciate our freedom. A country and its people can never be fully happy without independence. But what about being independent personally? Does it also hold importance?
On this special day, indianexpress.com decided to ask popular television actors Gautam Rode, Meera Deosthale, Mohit Malik, Eisha Singh and Shashank Vyas about their first moment of being independent. The actors not only shared their precious memories but also spoke about what it taught them.
Shashank Vyas
On a personal front, my first moment of being independent was when my parents told, do what you love, son'. Choosing a profession is a life-altering decision and one should listen to their heart and guts for the same. I am so thankful to my parents that they trusted me. They gave me the freedom to follow my passion and dreams. I would like to request all parents that never put your dreams on your children. Trust them and let them fly on their own.
Shashank Vyas who is currently seen in the title role of Roop- Mard Ka Naya Swarup is too tied up with his shoot schedules and won't have time to go to Jodhpur where his sister lives.
He says, "My sister Shrashti's birthday is on 30th August and Rakhi is on 26th. I would send her cash so she can buy whatever she wishes to as per her own choice. The memories of Ujjain Rakhi are plenty. It was always great fun. I used to take money from parents and give to my sister. I used to have the habit of watching films with a friend on Rakhi. Once we didn't get the film ticket of the chosen show then we took another show and I reached home late and the muhrat of Rakhi had gone. I got a scolding from my parents. Ujjain is a traditional city and Rakhi is celebrated with a lot of love and affection. One gets to eat a lot of mithai. I would be shooting mostly and talk to my sister on phone.
Tough time, isn't it?
It is said that success changes a person and you often forget your friends, but this doesn't seem to be true in actor Shashank Vyas and Shivin Narang's case who are playing the lead in two different shows. The two are great friends and go back a long way and are still so thick with each other. Recently, Shashank playing the title role in TV soap Roop' decided to give his friend a surprise by visiting on the sets of his show Internet Wala Love.
"Shashank is like a big brother to me. It's so much fun whenever we meet. He is a genuine person and is a hardworking actor. The best quality about his is that he is very humble. He came to our Internetwala Love set and we had lot of fun, says Shivin.
It seemed like the two caught up on a lot of things as well. "Shivin is my brother, he is family. It was so nice to meet him and catch up. We discuss work and life. It felt amazing to spend time with him. He is quite sorted, says Shashank.
All we can say is that these two are giving us major friendship goals!
