Balaram did not hate the Pandavas, that is a popular misconception just because he favorite Duryodhana more than Bhima.

Balarama was an impartial teacher, and both Duryodhan and Bhima were his students. Bhima had more strength, but Duryodhan was more skilled in mace fighting, and this is what Balarama appreciated, much like Dronacharya liked Arjuna for his skills in archery.

However, Balarama never approved of Duryodhana's treachery and neither did he support him. He was neutral in the war, because he was not totally convinced about the Pandavas' cause. However, he could never ever oppose his beloved Kanha and so there was no question of him supporting the Kauravas, whose cause he also did not believe in.

In Balarama's POV, the war was unnecessary and so he remained netural, but his true allegiance was neither to the Pandavas or Kauravas. It was always to Krishna.

It had some really nice scenes, like Krishna-Draupadi relation was dealt with brilliantly and so was Krishna-Arjuna scenes...but they butchered Karna...he was this confused soul that didn't knew what to do and of course Abhimanyi ko toh brat bana diya tha!

I loved Starbharat until the vanvaas. After the vanvaas, the story was butchered beyond redemption, particularly Karna and Duryodhan.

But the best parts of the show were Krishna and Draupadi's relationship, which had never been shown so well before in any other show or movie, not even in BRC's Mahabharat. But Arjuna and Krishna's relationship was mediocre; that was shown better by BRC.

On top of all that, they all thought that Dau did not understand Subhadra 😡🤢

@Janki Di I have never fully seen BRC's Mahabharat, I catching it on Epic these days, but Draupadi had such amazing dialogues there! I loved her dialogue during vastra haran when she said: Maryada ke iss orr Draupadi hai aur uss orr aap sab! That was phenomenal!
