2. How did Sumo expect him to forgive her after that?😕

But after pondering on it for a while, I am really bugged with Shravan.

Not for the showdown, but for the whiny character he was years back.

I might sound a little or very insensitive...and I do feel that Sumo def should have been kinder to him in public...but had he come to her in her house, I have a feeling she would have yelled at him even then. His mom had been making trouble for a long while now, and it looks like he had been eating Sumo's head for some time now. Had she been a nice lady and his dad had kicked her out, I would expect Sumo to be all ears...but it sounded like everyone else knew this was inevitable and Shravan was still not prepared for this. He would just keep whining.
In a sense that roar from Suman seems to have done Shravan a world of good finally.😆 He really needed London just then.

But Insensitive she was, and foolish and idiotic- Oh Yes!

That boy playing Shravan was too good.👏

Hi Chick,
But a friend is not supposed to judge...a friend should be there for you...

I am glad Pushker said ...Suman has changed...she was very selfish and insensitive then...I don't think anyone in Shravans position can love that Suman...I think he will fall in love with who she is now...not who she was...But in any case... I would love the new Suman to accept her own mistakes whole heartedly...some day...just as I would love Shravan to feel bad about what he did at the party...all justifications aside...

EDKV- I don't like this Shravan and his so called tit for tat behaviour. I posted my response in one of the post on forum.
My response to the episode copying from there

Very nice post.
I would say it was more tit for tat then eye for an eye.

Shravan all his young life had issues. He was the guy who did not have friends, was not cool, was not friendly and most important was the guy who was nerd. The nerd whose life was boring as he was seen with books.

Even today he is not that friendly a person. He is trying to be what Suman wanted him to be. Else why would have he forgotten his date with Ms Delhi. For sure with age he has known to manipulate the situation yet at the back of the mind he is still the adolescent who was betrayed by Suman at the prom night. He is trying to be prince charming because that was the reason why he was betrayed by Suman.

Suman is his first love or may be the only love and has not forgotten her. He remembers each and every details even after 10 years. So he is just trying to show her how hurt he was or how much it hurts when people are two faced.

The only difference here to me that when Suman insulted him she told him that she will not go with him in prom. She was upfront and she never manipulated him even though she was young she was mature enough to not hurt him. Although it was the act on verge of snob behaviour it can be counted as the mistake that many teenagers make.

Whereas Shravan on other hand who is matured, successful lawyer repeating the scene is the act of manipulation. He manipulated her to the extent of no return. Behind that successful man is still that young man who had issues with self esteem and is still a nerd.

G- I am loving this show Daheleez for now. Can't name it what i am liking. I am just liking it
Is it a 5 day show or 7 days like all other star plus shows?

This author Jojo Moyes has gotten under my skin. I completed yet another of her story- One plus One. She is so natural and writes about the real people.Unlike some of the stories where one lead is so good or have done nothing wrong and other is all twisted with past and what not. She is witty and the humor is in the day to day life that she is portraying. One can laugh and cry with her writing.

Sush - will definitely go for the second movie from Divergent. I liked the first one so am sure this one will be good too. I have all the three books in basement and am not sure if i should read the book first or just enjoy the movie.

Bhavi...I liked the movie...even though the critics don't seem to...
It is very much like the first one...in many ways...
Theo James looks awesome, so does Shailene Woodly...she has never looked better...I think...
The book is better ...my daughter tells me...she has read them all...the movie misses out on many details and cuts much of characterization ...also the ending is different...😃!

If you have the time...read the book...but if not...watch the movie...you won't regret it...

I find it hard to like Shravan right now Sush to be honest. Whatever his reasons or however he justifies his actions at the end of the day he took the cheap way out, the cowards way in my opinion. I could just be super sensitive to stuff like this so perhaps it's just me.

Bhavi - hot springs!!! Nice - spring has officially come on the calendar but it still feels like winter out; storm after storm with rain - yippeee - where's the sun??

On another note I'm happy to report my brother is moving back to California for work so I can visit!!!
No offense ladies but I'm a west coast gal through and through and didn't really like the east. Maybe too crowded for me?

California! How lovely!!
We had snow today...😃!!
I know we want our men to be perfect!! But perfect men only exist in fairy tales...on desi soap...you get the jaded ones, who do eventually get over whatever they had...😆

In real life...I don't know if anything ever gets fixed forever...

Hello All,

Happy Tuesday to all. Its a holiday weekend here this week with Good Friday and Easter Monday off. Its going to be quiet one for us as we aren't going anywhere travelling wise

Coming to EDKV I agree with all of you that is hard to like Shravan. I am not condoning what Sumo did because she was insensitive, stupid and immature but she accepted that she was stupid and what is the difference between her and Shravan? Shravan went through so much effort to just show her the mirror. He could have done that in private but then where is the drama? Anyways, Sush I agree with you that both characters are flawed. I am still watching so far but I am not liking this tit for tat situation. Also the EDKV forum is explosive. Some people are staunch supporters of Shravan and go to any lengths to justify his behaviour and refuse to listen to another side.

Bhavi, S - I watched some of Dahleez and it was good but again I wish I had more time to watch TV. I am super tired these days as my MIL is india and I am doing everything. I have become super good with cooking according to my husband. I am entering the league of my MIL 😲 I never expected that from my husband 😆

Indra - Wow Cali amazing! Cali is an amazing state but as a east coaster I love the east too. I know what you mean about east being crowded 😆

Obama has reached Cuba. Its been a been on his agenda for 3 years. With relaxed restrictions on who can travel to Cuba, many more Americans will now be able to follow the Obamas' lead. And administration officials hope improved economic ties can foster a new dynamic between individual Cubans and Americans.

Just news coming in that there has been 2 blasts at Brussels airport and Metro with 13 people killed. Shots were heard before the explosions, which appear to have struck near the American Airlines and Brussels Airline check in desk. The Belgian government has raised the terror alert level to 4 across the country, the highest level. Prayers and thoughts for the families of those who have lost their lives. Belgium has been the centre of attacks for a while now

Sush,

She was not a good friend at all- I don't think anyone can argue that point.

Many good people are not that understanding at that age. They are simply moulded by their later experiences.
If we look at what the ten years have done to Suman and Shravan- who is more mature now?
How can Shravan blame Sumo for who he is now? Why didn't he let other life experiences mould him? Why did he turn into such a hopeless cynic and chauvinist?

Why is it that Suman became this very caring girl and he became the direct opposite?

And in what way is any of her apologies going to make a difference to him? But for Suman, I have a feeling she is going to move past this insult irrespective of whether he gives a heartfelt apology or not...she is not going to let it fester...she is simply going to pick up from who they are now, and move on.

But Shravan needs to know that she truly regrets who she was, and it is not an act she has put up for him..would love to see how he gets to know that.

Chick,
She was not a good friend...but not a good person either...kicking someone when they are down...someone who she called her friend in private. Deplorable! I would not even want to associate with that person...if someone did that to me...in highschool...

I get a feeling that the writers of the show (based on Suman's dialogues, and the reaction of the viewers) want to write this off...as her being immature...while at the same time they feel that Shravan should be accountable to his behavior. I disagree. I think she is as accountable for her behavior as he is for his...and I am not ready to give a free pass because she was immature...

I also do not agree that Shravan is the direct opposite of someone who is caring...I dont think one is white one is black...Like I said...they both have their issues..the way I see it...

I haven't seen true regret from Suman...apologies don't count...true regret and realization does...I havent seen that...Shravan hasn't either...I hope the writers focus on that point and not who is better, ...who is more right in causing the hurt they caused or who can be excused...Irrespective of their current situation...where one is more privileged than the other...or the past...where the reverse was true ...(privilege does not come from money alone...it comes from emotional security, relationships, social stature ...and so on). I hope Shravan truly regrets his actions too...despite everything...

The moral high-ground explanation (on who is better now) will not cut it for me...I guess we see the situation and the characters differently...

Sush,
Of course, we see the characters differently.
I guess in real life, I might forgive Suman, you might not. That is only based on our life experiences...Likewise, I might not feel inclined to forgive some kind of behaviour you might.

On Suman kicking him so hard when he was low..she was actually trying extra hard- and there was a reason she was desperate to put so much distance between them.

One of the girls had implied he was her boyfriend and had suggested they carry on their business behind the Basket Ball Court. That really irked Suman and she flipped totally.

I have a feeling the writers may not give too much explanation for Sumo's actions...from the precap and prob today's epi we know that her best friend says she had been waiting for ten years to apologise to him...so ten years of regret must be sincere, I hope.

I am actually seeing Sumo written more white than Shravan...because apart from his issues with Sumo, Shravan has a deep contempt towards all women...whereas Sumo seems to accept people as they are. So I am seeing it in the light of the original promo- which was about Suman's atmasamman...and that has been violated by the dark forces.😉😆

Probably because as a teenager I used to get super annoyed when girls would start teasing me if I talked to a boy ...They would do it just for the heck of it, but it used to irritate me like hell😡...don't know if this sort of thing still happens in schools.😆
Ha Ha...When I think back to those days! 😉😆

Yes Chick, we are all a product of our own experiences and who we relate to...
This is the third show, I am relating well to the male lead despite being a female...I think it is the part that says seemingly privileged and successful people have feelings too...and should not be demonized because they are successful...and what good is all that confidence that she was shown to have...if she could not stand up for the weak/ less popular among them?

About reacting to a comment...from a school girl...for me...what has always been important is to stand up for what you believe in...and don't change what you stand for to please people or be popular...That was a major character flaw in Suman for me...I hope she has realized the impact of her behavior and is no longer the person who will choose image over being there for a person who is down...even if the person is not as charming or attractive to associate with...

Having said that...we all make mistakes...it is how we react to our mistakes...and how much we own up to it and truly try our best to fix them...that matters...
