Karna could not even dare to change side because Bheem-Arjun-Draupadi's names made him worried. How would he face them after side change? He must have thought that dying in war would have been easier than facing Pandavas as brothers after his deeds. It was Krishna's master stroke.

I want to know why Debroy and team translated it as 'intercourse'. I was very disturbed after reading it yesterday . Even threatened to sing 'Dost dost na raha' at home.😆

yes, that must be the reason. atleast karna had some sense of guilt and conscious, which was lacked by duryodhan and ashwatthama.

Checked. Verse number 05138015c in CE. Same verse as I posted.
Shashthe cha twaam tathaa kaale Draupady upagamishyati

Now difference is this, they wrote Draupady instead of Draupadi but sadly it does not change the meaning. I also checked the Devnagari font. It is Draupadi only, not Draupadeya or any such term that can poin to to her children.

Why would so called scholars translate in such a manner, that the truth is far from what they mean? I wanted to disown any strong feelings I had for G after reading that verse yesterday.

Even if G is saying that Panchali will come to meet him in the evening, I think he was taking it too far. In the remote chance that Karna had accepted, I'm with Anu here - I would think Panchali would have killed everyone and ruled on her own.

Whether G was weakening Karna or not, he had no right to take her name there.

At least he is still alive. I don't think he'll mind if we all take a field trip to his mansion and ask him a few questions 😆😆 Those in the US can fly together.

I wonder if his motives are like Max Mueller - to change the minds of how Indians see their beliefs?
