My problem is, they pretty much threw Manik's character off the building in this chakkar of showing Vikku the finger! I want to know HOW will they make him recover? 😕
This is the problem one faces when they're deeply attached to a couple.
Also, it is not the first time that Manik is with Fab 5 and have all but forgotten about Nandini- remember the ride to Soha's house? He called everything else apart from Fab 5 as "irrelevant". That was the first blow.
Also, he was never that public about displaying his affection towards Nandini as he was in displaying his "hatred". Public announcement and what not!
These are the things which will always make me question Manik's "love" for Nandini...what kind of love is it that only comes out when he's alone or with her? How come it doesn't come out when he is with those pathetic excuses for "friends"?
Right now, Cabir is looking like a better suitor for Nandini than Manik!

First of all, if nothing else then the very inconsistent characterization that they managed to portray inspite of having barely 5 minutes of KY2 screen time should prove beyond a doubt that none of this crap could possibly have been written by our CVs who KNOW all their characters very well..
Which makes it all NOT canon and equivalent to AU or Vikku ka likha hua bad quality fanfiction.. not meant to be taken seriously at all😆
The Manik we know would NEVER have left in the first place, especially when his entire equation with Nandu was questioned and that too when there was a legit threat to her safety hanging over her head.. n that too for what? His ex high school ka freshers party? kuch bhi..
Missing Nandu ki zaroorat hi nahi hoti since he wouldn't let her be away from his sight only😛
Therefore the way I see it, this is a doppelganger unrealistic version of Manik (who doesn't count) and once he's back the story will pick up where it stopped just like he never left at all..
In fact that maybe the very reason they froze the current storyline and decided to show no progress on that front so that the merger would be easily forgettable since no one would relate to it due to it's discontinuity from the general track..
Now I'm not going to dignify this merger any further by trying to infuse any sort of logic into it (when it's clearly meant not to have any) but let's discuss Manik's character for a bit..
Manik is casual about his relationship with Alya because it is really a not a big deal to him.. he has moved on but also there was hardly any emotional investment from him even before too.. their first kiss, their anniversaries etc. they are all non-events to him.. pleasant memories at best, not soul-touching, life-changing moments like his time with Nandu.. Therefore he is able to shrug it off and easily discuss it in such an off-hand manner simply because none of it matters..
Just contrast this with his attitude regarding discussing Nandu in their post-Vday breakup phase.. even at the peak of his hatred when all he wanted to do was lash out, he couldn't bring himself to share one word about her with anyone.. not even his pyare Faltu4.. This is because everything related to her, even something as small as uttering her name is sacred to him.. and he is protective of it.. Isn't that what we all do? Guard our most precious memories as fiercely and possessively as we can.. never share them in casual conversation.. just save them and relive them privately for our own pleasure..
This is Nandu to him.. the center of his vulnerable heart.. How can he be "public" his intense feelings for her? That would be the same as displaying his naked soul to the world.. she is his greatest weakness and his biggest strength both, but at this point he is too afraid to admit to the strength of his feelings for her..
But it is unfair to say that he only expresses his feelings when they are alone.. just look at the holi episodes.. he noticed nothing and no one but her and didn't give a damn what anyone thought.. He openly admits to joining the fusion concert just for her, his "friends" ki opinion toh he doesn't care at all about.. He is not hiding them from the world.. he is just refusing to stake his claim because he is confused and terrified of being hurt and rejected again.. Taking this step would be the equivalent to surrendering himself completely, a metaphorical version of the 'trustfall' you could say which he is not ready for yet, therefore he looks to her to keep the hope going for him.. her courage and determined belief in them gives him faith that they will survive this(his words)
As for the "irrelevant" wala point, he really wasn't thinking of her when he said it.. because for him there really is no comparison at all.. she is far above him, his shining star, his guiding light how can he possibly equate her with the rest of the world? She is in a league all her own..
As far as the priorities wala dilemma is concerned, when the moment of truth arrived (Soha track) we all witnessed exactly what choice he made and what the only thing he was concerned about in that moment.. After that, how can you possibly doubt his love for her?
With Manik, he has repeatedly said to Nandu (and us), NOT to take his words at face value.. words are cheap and can be manipulated.. actions are what count with him and the only parameter on which he himself would want to be judged.. Chuck whatever he says and examine the truth in his deeds.. they will always tell the full, unbiased story of his heart..😳
