Kiran Bedi lost on that seat which BJP had traditionally been winning. This shows BJP loyalists were disgruntled.

I cannot believe freebies are more important to people. AK has no governance skills either except giving dharnas.

Still people voted?

Anyway I feel it is a good jolt for Modi and Amit Shah. They should know simply Brand Modi cannot win them elections.

honestly speaking i didn't expected this defeat of bjp. they have been totally routed out. anyway it's a good jolt for modi-shah team and i really wish AK delivers. now he has the majority & time to do so.

in nirbhaya case despite all the media coverage , outrage the accused have still not been hanged as their hearing is still going on in SC. just imagine what happens to those hundreds of cases where there is no coverage, where the accuses openly threatens the victim & pressurise them too.

i agree.nothing has much developed despite so many protests and all.

I don't agree with either views.
Neither are most rape cases fake nor are all genuine.

There have been stories both ways.

We need to look at it objectively.

When the accused themselves confess their crime, where is the question of fake rape case?
The convicts in Nirbhaya case have confessed their crime.

Similarly I read, that the accused in Rohtak rape and murder of Nepali woman have also confessed.
So there's no question of fake charges here.

Similarly, there's no reason why a 20 yr old Japanese woman would falsely accuse someone for rape.

It's not a question of whether rape case is fake or genuine.

If crime has happened, it must be probed thoroughly.

If there's indeed a fake charge, then there won't be arrest either.

Take the Ness Wadia v/s Preity Zinta case.
She filed a molestation case against him for a simple verbal argument.

Was there an arrest? No there wasn't.

So while I agree that "All are innocent unless proven guilty" , crimes like rape, murder seen in recent times deserve max abhorrence.

If the person is wrongly accused and his reputation is tarnished, he is free to file defamation suit against the other party and claim damages.

That doesn't mean that rape cases are fake. Rape and murder is a raging crime in the country and there's no doubt abt it.

And coming to adultery. Its a punishable offense.
There was a case shown in crime patrol where a woman was jailed for 7 years for adultery.

So its not as if such crimes are ignored.

We need the right will and spirit to fight against crimes whatever may be the crime.

well what about those who file false rape charges when they know that they werent victims of rape? their reputation would be tarnished as well. people shouldnt also misuse their powers. i agree rape is a serious issue. but at times people would take advantage of their rights which is also wrong

Nobody is saying that the Nirbhaya case or the Rohtak case is fake.
Naxal women are known to shove stones and sticks into their private parts and then cry rape by our armed forces. It's part of their training manuals.

Strauss Kahn was vilified on the word of a hotel maid and now he's filing a defamation suit. This guy had exposed US's lies wrt Fort Knox.

So it was a great way to fix him.

There's this show on Big Magic Akbar Birbal where a rival king wanted some agreements signed that would give him control over some lands. He had a woman accuse Birbal of molestation so that Birbal could not focus his attention on the negotiations.

Have you heard of Nambinarayanan? He was then project director of the prestigious cryogenic system project and was working on developing an Indian cryoengine for the third stage of the GSLV.Narayanan introduced the liquid fuel rocket technology in India in the early 1970s, when A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's team was working on solid motors. He foresaw the need for liquid fuelled engines for ISRO's future civilian space programmes.

He was accused of being a spy.
The day Nambi was arrested there was a big crowd at his gates and people were pushing to break the police cordon and throwing punches at him as he was being taken to the police jeep, calling him Desh Drohi.

Journalists went skippety skip to the house of the spy on 30th Nov 1994, and were shocked to note that the dedicated scientist lived in poverty though he held a critical and well paying job as Director in ISRO.

He had a small black and white TV, when even my driver had a color TV in his house in 1994. His fridge was out of order , for at least 2 months.

Shaken up, the journalists went hoppety hop to check out the two Maldivian Muslim women, to whom Nambi sold ISRO blueprints in exchange for sex. They were surprised to see two ugly, fat women, Mariam Rasheeda and Fauzia Hassan, looking like two sacks of rotten potatoes .

Something was terribly wrong somewhere-- money and sex apparently did NOT hold water--unless you were daft.

Everybody knew the spy case was fabricated. All knew that this spy case was foisted by American spies operating in India to stall the development of cryogenic engines by ISRO.

This case lowered the morale of our ISRO scientists and set our space program back by a decade.

(Blue text copied from Capt Ajit Vadakayil.blogspot)

Tomorrow, if any foreigner accuses our PM or NSA Ajit Doval of molestation, they will be in jail without any proper inquiries. ANd then who will hold the reins of India?

You post 'I love you' on Facebook and Hindu Mahasabha will get you married.
Here is the english article..
Display of love in the entire Valentine's week is equivalent to not following Indian traditions. Anyone found displaying love on Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp will be caught hold of. A total of eight teams have already been formed in Delhi to keep a check on social media," said Chandra Prakash Kaushik, national president, Hindu Mahasabha.

The right-wing outfit had earlier warned that couples found celebrating Valentine's Day in public places, like malls and restaurants, will have to face a variety of punishments. While an impromptu Arya Samaj wedding will be forced on Hindu couples, inter-faith partners will have to sit through a 'shuddhikaran' (purification) ritual, the Hindu Mahasabha had said.

The outfit had said the couples caught with roses in hands and those who indulge in public display of affection at malls and parks will be their prime targets.

However, after their new diktat, it seems even social media is on their radar.

"We will be prompt about our social media campaign from Feb 8 onwards. Once Delhi elections are over, our teams will first apprise masses about what true love is and that a western festival should not be celebrated in the country. But if they do not adhere to our advice, we will inbox them and ask for their contact numbers and addresses, reach their house and get them married," Kaushik said.

"If they refuse to share their numbers, we will contact their parents " especially those who are active online " and ask them to get them married if they really love each other," the Mahasabha president said.

Hindu Mahasabha'a views are not at all offensive.
I don't take comments from such buffoons seriously.

What they think doesn't matter at all!

Bunch of jobless jokers. No need to break your head or spoil our mood over such worthless nonsense.

Not worth our time!

Hindu Mahasabha gets too much attention for nothing.

We have such loonies in every religion. Ignore them.

The over focus on such people gives them more importance and attention than what they deserve.

On rape I agree with Rishi. Rohtak gang rape and Nirbhaya are clear. So is Japanese woman case. What gain does a 20 year old Jap have in accusing an Indian? Or that Uber cab case? Why an MNC employee would falsely accuse a ca driver? Later that guy himself admitted to have raped many women.

Yes knee jerk reactions should be avoided but we should remember rape was not taken seriously earlier and it is only in recent decade that women have had courage to come out and speak, and their plight has come to fore.

So this constant suspicion of fake cases and conspiracy in each rape charge is still an extreme generalisation.

Fake rape cases are not a norm. Rape is a very real issue.

On Hindu Mahasabha I am surprised how they ignored Krishna and Radha relationship in their own mythology. How can they say only married people have the right to say I love you to each other?
