I don't agree with either views.
Neither are most rape cases fake nor are all genuine.
There have been stories both ways.
We need to look at it objectively.
When the accused themselves confess their crime, where is the question of fake rape case?
The convicts in Nirbhaya case have confessed their crime.
Similarly I read, that the accused in Rohtak rape and murder of Nepali woman have also confessed.
So there's no question of fake charges here.
Similarly, there's no reason why a 20 yr old Japanese woman would falsely accuse someone for rape.
It's not a question of whether rape case is fake or genuine.
If crime has happened, it must be probed thoroughly.
If there's indeed a fake charge, then there won't be arrest either.
Take the Ness Wadia v/s Preity Zinta case.
She filed a molestation case against him for a simple verbal argument.
Was there an arrest? No there wasn't.
So while I agree that "All are innocent unless proven guilty" , crimes like rape, murder seen in recent times deserve max abhorrence.
If the person is wrongly accused and his reputation is tarnished, he is free to file defamation suit against the other party and claim damages.
That doesn't mean that rape cases are fake. Rape and murder is a raging crime in the country and there's no doubt abt it.
And coming to adultery. Its a punishable offense.
There was a case shown in crime patrol where a woman was jailed for 7 years for adultery.
So its not as if such crimes are ignored.
We need the right will and spirit to fight against crimes whatever may be the crime.
