Have watched ZGH, after I got to notice the subtlety and crisp story telling of the neighbouring country shows ( have watched 2 of them before ., very old ones )

ZGH - there's nothing very great about the show, until the leads finish their college, apart from the closer to reality chalking out of scenes.

But after college, it improves. Also, FAK is ofcourse adorable.

Again, nothing very great about the story line. The uniqueness is just how the characters are handled.

But now, our own desi show, TSHJA...tops my list over all 😳❤️

SS, watch it one more time and you'll get what Uma & I are trying to convey. It is the insolence which penetrated inside Imraan's blood and reached his heart. I liked her exercising her vocal cords with Imraan otherwise Imraan would not have come out of his gloom and noticed her.
He saw her pain which she was hiding inside her outbursts. He instantaneously connected with the pain as he was doing the same yelling to find comfort. Do you remmebr the garage sc...what Imran did there? He was yelling as he was feeling helpless. It was his anger and frustration with himself that came out in the junkyard garage in front of Mariyam & Nazma. Same thing Najma did with him in the Tennis club about money😛
so 1 all😆it was a fair game 😃 Imraan & Najma both never wanted pity from others hence the outbursts of frustration!!!!!

Well, I like flawed Najma and her USP is her spunky venting out. It is this that makes her unique. Much of what is beautiful has flaws or inconsistencies. Ironically, it is those that make it unique. Leaning Tower of Pisa was straightened and Mona Lisa's smile was made more prominent it would not be the same. Same way Najma's outburst are something which draws me to her and makes me think why she is behaving like this at certain time. This is what draws viewers' attention to Najma- Imran relationship and I certainly believe flawed Najma is human so she sure can improve. We as viewers would like to see Imran heal and Najma's vocal cords improve throughout the story and get precisely altered by the end and this is exactly what happened in the end. 😃

Her being rude with him is her helplessness. She ofcourse can't blame her mom for her disappointment. Then who next? Her coach with whom she has connected in pain.

Just like this picture...A dead leaf or a beautiful smile. It is our perception.
Same way I may not be on the same page as you as I see her shouts & yells as her helplessness and pain which gets conveyed to Imran..

Omg, It is beautiful. Nature's creation on life's canvas. ❤️⭐️

Me too could not feel connected with ZGH as other balikaas here did. Though it generated waves in whole of the TV world,I can only appreciate Zaroon and kasaf from far , not more than that.

With Hamsafer it is a different story, it touched my heart. Intensity , passion , desire all were there to make it unforgettable. One keep mulling over it even when it reaches it's ending.

Me too recommend to give it a try. 😛

Me too agree with Anshu...😃

Humsafar, even with its cliched story line, has some thing, which touches deep into your heart...feel for Khirad.

Personally, I would rate Humsafar higher than ZGH., from an emotional perspective.

And then came recent recommendation of Hiral, which I just finished watching...Shehr - E - Zaat .

This I would say is a master piece.

Totally of a different genre, but every bit worth it...if you are in for a thought provoking drama, which takes you into realms of spiritual awakening ⭐️

Uma - SEZ is class apart👏⭐️ m glad u liked it😳 yeah she took salman back...but what I especially love about the last scene - salman is nowhere in it👏👍🏼 he is only in the periphery of falak's world...but not her world anymore...👏 and ofcoz I loved the allround completion of her journey - beautifully with falak helping her daughter in making moulds of animals out of clay and looking up and smiling with dil ajeeb sheher hai in the bg! exceptionally beautiful shot👏👏👏

my pet peeves with this show - the acting of meekal, not so glossy production values and at times sloppy direction till epi 9ish...and that terrible HS joke...which was wierd😆...coz sarmad is the director of both HS and SEZ and did u know the guy who played suitor in epi 1 - is sarmad himself😆😆 and there was huge hungama over that shot, coz it hurt sentiments of scores of HS fans...imagine the director of HS himself pulls a joke off on his loved product😆 failed gamble - sarmad disassociated himself with the show - ie he refused to take credit for its direction later - coz of the hungama or something🤔

and yes - it aint possible to make a show as this one here...too many problems...I guess we will have to be satisfied that atleast someone attempted it in some part of the world...and succeeded for most part of it👏👍🏼 and also this should keep all the detractors of mahira shut...she was terrific in the most difficult part of the show - infact I think all the elements- writing, directing, acting, camera work - came into its own after epi 13...and worked beautifully till the end👏⭐️

coming to ZGH and HS...

both the shows have stories which have been told before many times...

ZGH is about a rich boy and a poor guy, college romance...marriage...some troubles and happily ever after

HS is also about rich boy, poor guy, trials and tribulations in marriage and happily ever after

but both have their strengths and the reason why they worked - specifically ZGH worked so well in India for scores of reasons

- there was no falling, catching, 23480170 eyelocks, irritating bg scores, overdose of sugary romance or even a never ending wait for SR or marriage - that wasnt the most important thing in it - what was - were conversations - between the leads or between the family of leads, this was the first pak show that came in india...and people could see the difference between ZGH and our shows, in handling lovestories - totally a breath of fresh air...

- the diary entries of both zaroon and kashaf - very relatable, very unique...and the characterization of kashaf- she is not a larger than life character...she is us...and that is the biggest reason why ZGH works...every single girl somewhere associates and relates with kashaf...her cribbing, her insecurities...we all have it in some proportions within us and rafia-kashaf scenes are beautifully done...there is so much value in the mother-daughter conversations - its amazing😳

ZGH specifically is very good from the fight scenes of zaroon and kashaf in library...it takes time to build up - infact when I started watching, I was more into Aunn zara than ZGH, and even texted my colleague that AZ is real fun and I found Osman Khalid butt fab looking😆 and ZGH - well I was waiting to start liking it...coz I saw it on TV from the scene where zaroon drops kashaf home and she was rude to him and walks away...and I was like...ok big deal😕...and then from epi 13, my interest level just peaked...the fight sequence was brilliantly done...and the leap was so smooth...like it just happened...without any craziness...and ofcoz post marriage phase is an absolute fav of mine😛 I dont like fawad coz he is the most goodlooking thing, infact he is one of the many good looking guys around...but the guy knows his job...and its his acting which made me fall for him more😉 KS is pathetic- and neither was fawad good enuf in it, nor was the project good enuf for him🤢🤢🤢

HS - the biggest plus point - the fawad-mahira quintessential romantic couple chemistry - great direction, bang on screenplay and the longing - its a simple lovestory - but the intensity, the longing, the pain is what makes it the phenomena it is...

with a script straight out of ekta kapoor's stuff😆 it still manages to touch hearts...coz of effective coming together of every other department -effective use of OST - infact the best use of OST is in this drama😛, acting specifically of the leads, direction, editing, camera work, taut screenplay ..

and asher hussain - well what to say, I have a serious soft spot for this character - it has the least likability factor on paper...a totally distrusting husband...but fawad's rendition makes his character lovable, endearing...he makes u wana pat asher too out of sympathy...😭😆 feels for defending asher😉😉
