Man wanted his elder son Jagat Singh to succeed him.
But Jagat died, so he wanted his grandson(son of Jagat) - Maha Singh to succeed him.

But Man was succeeded by his younger son Bhao Singh, not grandson.

When Bhao died, then the son of Maha Singh(son of Jagat) became ruler. - Jai Singh.
Mughal records call him "Fiercely Brave"..

He was a close friend of Shah Jahan and strongest LOYALIST of Aurangzeb. :-P

He received huge favors from Nur Jahan, Jahanara Begum , etc. for his exceptional victories.
Radhika will get some farmans of Nur Jahan and Jahanara Begum. She will post later. :)

Aurangzeb employed Jai Singh against Shivaji.

She was a very respected and senior lady of the harem, and was childless. And the marriage was for safety only.

Akbar listened to her advice. She maintained her library.

His last days were full of misery.

But, even In his last correspondence Aurangzeb writes the following about Marathas and Rajputs.


1. He calls Shivaji a "wretch" and says till the end of his life he had to fight the Marathas.

2. He calls Rajputs as "crass stupids" because he says > "They would die in battlefield and will sacrifice their head, but will not bow their heads and will not move away showing their back."


PS : ^^^ This is what Aurangzeb says, not me. He simply hated Shivaji and Rajputs of Mewar/Marwar. 😳

PPS : What Akbar did with MP in Mewar , same thing Aurangzeb did with Marwar and Mewar for continuous 30 years, and in Deccan for long .!!!!!!
