I read on Maratha history website that Akbar was not successful to capture Deccan and that it was Shahjahan who was first successful to enter this region.

Akbar had a short treaty with Ahmad nagar and he also got khandesh..but then Salim revolted and Daniyal died and then Akbar died...so it was left to Shahjahan...Salim was more busy in north..

And tell me one more thing what happened to Amer after Maansingh ? Did he have any heir to look after ?

Maan SIngh had sons Rashmi. MS, eldest son Jagat Singh died before MS but Jagat had a son. Since this son was young, the second son of MS, Bhau Singh was apponted as King. He died childless and Jagat's son also was childless.
